Hayward has played the bulk of his minutes at SG. I think having depth at multiple positions and guys who can play multiple positions is a good problem to have. If Snyder truly means what he says that players will earn their playing time, this could be a really good time to be a Jazz fan.

Even if the Jazz could get an offer to Parsons before he signs the offer sheet, do you really think he'd choose the Jazz over the Mavericks?

Aside from the sheer cost of the contract, my biggest concern is Hayward will not be able to handle the pressure of living up to a max deal. I hope Quin's system takes some of the pressure off of him, but he has shown to be a bit of a shrinking violet. I really hope I'm wrong.

My point is that we all have varying opinions about Hayward's value. There are at least two teams that think he is a max player or they wouldn't have made the offer or state they will match any offer. I think it is fair that it is highly unlikely that a player of Hayward's skill can be signed...

He may not be, but he received a max offer sheet and all indications show the Jazz will match.

I was operating a bit under the assumption that Hayward would play more minutes at the three with Exum getting drafted.

Playing devil's advocate here... If the Jazz let Hayward walk, who do they sign to replace him? They will not get any free agents to go to Utah that are anywhere near the player that Hayward is, so do the Jazz just hope that Hood or an undrafted summer league guy will be enough, and then hope...

I'm not saying they should, but I'm pretty confident the Jazz will match. Why would they let someone of Hayward's caliber walk for nothing without having someone to replace him. It's clear that Parsons will get a max offer now as well.

I think he's a better defender than the video gives him credit for, but otherwise it's pretty accurate.
