This is a classic thing for a Talking Head to say, as it completely glosses over the fact that the value of "4 firsts" can range wildly depending on which picks, and which protections. I don't think anyone here would sign up for Barrett + 4 heavily protected firsts. I never get why someone in...
So, has anyone asked the obvious follow-up question to KD? He laid out his ultimatum, “either trade me, or get rid or Marks/Nash.” So, has anyone gotten the answer to: “or what?”
Can someone explain how a buyout, or waiving, of Westbrook would work? Whenever people say that, I always think of Kramer telling Jerry, "they just write it off." Do we pay him the full $47MM, and send him on his way? Or do we waive him, then say a team agrees to pay him $10MM this year, do...
Am I the only one who finds it amusing when Knick fans say that eventually Donovan will go to Ainge and request a trade, and that's when they'll have the all the leverage? It would be like if I decided to sell my house, put it on the market, and placed a "For Sale" sign in my yard. Then as...
I get all this. My thinking was to facilitate things so that we'd be the ones that benefited from the Lakers 1st rounders. There's a scenario where we do the two team trade for Donovan, and then NYK does a 2nd trade to deal Randle to LAL for Westbrook (obviously other pieces would be...
I know it’s been mentioned numerous times before here somewhere, but can someone remind me when the players we acquired from MIN can be aggregated with other players in trades?
I don't think they can offer those picks. They're sending their 2024 pick to ATL, and it's protected through 2026. That muddies up their ability to trade first rounders.
Although, I think SAC could amend the protections on that 2024 pick to make it unprotected. That would then free them up to trade 2026 and 2028 first rounders, as well as do swaps in 2027 and 2029...
See, this is where my stupidity comes into play, because there's a scenario where that pick actually conveys in 2026 (it's top 14 protected in 2024 and top 12 protected in 2025). So, can they technically not trade a 1st rounder until 2027 or 2028?
Not saying he’s right, but just for reference Bill Simmons has Barnes at #16 and a Donovan at #34 in his Trade Value Column. I just think he (Barnes) has more value than Donovan and I’d bet that the TOR FO agrees
