He's an expiring and getting up there in age. I think it's best to cash him in now rather than potentially lose him for nothing, or sign him to a deal as he gets old.
That's just my opinion though.
Id argue the opposite, I really want to see what Rudy/DM look like under a new coach. I think Rudy's value will be pretty evergreen next year, maybe slightly less. People know what they're getting with him.
If we stupidly give up Gobert, I'd love Ayton. But we absolutely CANNOT trade him to a western contender like PHX or Dallas. He will become an absolute roadblock for the rest of his contract and will play with a vengeance against Utah.
