Possible Hint To KOC's Next Move

Uh...no. The reason he plays 40 minutes (well, 37-38 really, but 40+ whenever he has to) is because that's the type of playing time NBA superstars get. It's not like if the Jazz had a really good backup PG, Deron would just drop down to 29 minutes a game to save his legs. That's not how it...

Possible Hint To KOC's Next Move

WHY? If we were to sign Arroyo, not only would he be much more expensive than Gaines, but he wouldn't even play very many minutes. You want to spend veteran-type money for a guy who's hardly going to play? Seriously? It's not like a deal for someone like Shannon Brown, who can play multiple...

How are we number 8 in these power rankings???? Seriously?????

Rofl rofl Also, no they can't. Portland has plenty of depth along the frontline, but people severely overrate their actual talent. They have one truly great player and a bunch of decent (and in some cases injury-prone) role players. When Aldridge is your second-best player, you're not going...

Forget the poll - Jazz just DID sign Raja Bell

When the Jazz first got Raja several years ago, he was a scrub whose career high scoring average was 3.4 ppg. Anyway, Brown would provide certain things the Jazz could use more of - namely athleticism.

    What about Delonte West?

Even if you're right, you're still avoiding the argument. All those things may be true of Nelson, but they're at LEAST as true of West, who you've claimed is better. West isn't good at getting teammates involved, either. He's not a good point guard. Which is why he primarily plays the 2 nowadays.

Crap, looks like you and me posted our threads on the same subject at about the same time. Maybe some mod can combine them?

    What about Delonte West?

No, he's not. Neither does West. For all the flaws in Jameer's game (and there are many), he's still better than West. You're right that DW is a better defender, but JN still runs a better offense than West does. West is more of a combo guard; he barely runs an offense at all. He plays...

    Guess the remaining roster moves

They really can't now, with Koufos going to Minnesota in the Jefferson deal. Can't have Jefferson (a hybrid 4/5) and Okur (still injured) as the only centers on the roster. And Fes will (or should) be relatively cheap to retain.

Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

That's really not relevant in his case. You should know that. He's been on absolutely awful, awful teams - a post player (who naturally needs the ball fed to him) can't do much when he has the kind of rosters he's been with. The situation in Minnesota for Jefferson's entire tenure there was a...

What did KOC know and when?

That's been widely reported, actually. At least with Matthews. The strategy was that, since he was restricted and any deal would ultimately be up to the Jazz, let other teams dictate the market value for Matthews so that the Jazz wouldn't overpay right out of the gate.

We're almost there; USE THE MLE!

Only because they had to get SOMETHING out of losing LeBron. Completely different situation. The Jazz and Blazers hate each other - and after the Matthews situation, I don't think the Jazz are interested in working with them, new GM or no.

We're almost there; USE THE MLE!

Yeah, 'cause those two front offices will definitely work together for a deal like that.

Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

The Chandler/Raptors deal is officially dead. That link is from 15 hours ago. Deal fell apart today. It's been widely reported. Pay attention.

Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

Tweet from Marc Spears of Yahoo: "Wolves to trade Jefferson to Jazz for future 1st rd pick, 1st rd pick from Mem in Brewer trade and a trade exception, Y! Sports has learned."

Any chance we sign Wes and trade AK?

When Ben Wallace was bought out, he was paid $10 million - the original deal would have paid him $14 million. Then he signed with Detroit (I think he got $2 million after kickers and bonuses), so with the buyout and the new deal he made most of what he was going to make with Phoenix already...

Any chance we sign Wes and trade AK?

And you're acting like it's completely up to the team whether or not their own contract gets bought out. The player has to agree to it! There's no way AK is going to take a buyout of $6M or so instead of keeping the whole $17.8M. That's not how it works. If a player is going to allow his...

Any chance we sign Wes and trade AK?

Yeah, please pay attention to the story before wasting people's time with this. It's been reported by EVERYONE that the T-Wolves don't want to take on any salary. And we know they want draft picks.

Any chance we sign Wes and trade AK?

Yeah, I posted this on another thread. I'm guessing that the Jazz, once they finish up the Jefferson trade, would be more inclined to trade AK to someone who wants that expiring contract, then match the Matthews offer and use whatever room they have left (AK's contract minus Matthews' first year...

    Possibility of no Fes/more options

Yeah, but 2 years/$5 million? Somebody's going to pay him more than that, for sure, wouldn't you think? Highly likely that someone [over]pays him a LOT more than 5 mil.
