People think Neto has "elite level passing" skills yet it not yielding consistent production. Utah is actually worse. Hood, Burks, and Hayward all spend time handling the ball.
I don't see how Lawson does any better with Utah than he is in Houston. Lawson is best when he can dominant the ball he'll face similar issues Neto and Burke are having where he's forced to ball the majority of his mins off ball thus making him far less effective.
What are you talking about. He only took 6 shots. Really should have been 5 as he was fouled on that layup. The idea you are using one game to say a player can or can't play is beyond me. So by your logic Hood isn't and good player? This is the kind of blind hate I don't get.
Yeah I watch the game today for the first time so the action is fresh in my head. If you have a chance rewatch that stretch with Trey's TO's. The first came off what was a pretty good drive. The defense collapsed on Trey and he was going to throw it to Rudy, but Rudy wasn't looking(my guess is...
What reality? The one you choose to believe or me or any other poster? It's not even a matter of belief or disbelief in Trey's abilities. I think posters here often times are unfair and/or inaccurate with their criticism of Burke.
First he only had 2 TO's the whole night not 3. Trey +/- was +4 so the idea he gave up the lead is ridiculous. The hate for the guy is none stop. He makes mistakes so does everybody on the team, yet only Burke should sit for "boneheaded" plays. Nevermind he's moving the ball well playing with...
What did Trey do that was boneheaded? Both of his TO's was really on Gobert. The first Gobert wasn't in position for the alley oop and on the second Gobert was standing in the way instead of setting a pick or moving out of the way and the ball went off of his leg. He didn't take any poor shots.
What makes him "not much a PG" exactly? He has done a great job making decisions most of the year. Which includes getting players really good looks all season. Guys just aren't making shots which isn't a reflection of Burke's decision making and/or passing.
I think you have to say yes. Hayward had a slight advantage as of last year, but Gordon has been so bad this year that lead is gone. Hopefully for you guys Hayward can push for team best player again. There's really no excuse for Gordon's play this far. So although he has a mostly positive track...
Fair point. However the team IMO needed Burke on the court down the stretch. Won anyways which is ultimately the end goal, but I don't think it's even that close with Trey on the court. Dude has been really good for this team so far.
Still hating on Burke I see. The "inferior ball distribution" comment makes me wonder if you are watching the games. Trey has done a great job moving the ball. I said he had to prove he could hit shots before you saw an increase in his assist. The scouting report said let Trey shoot. Now he's...
In performance only he's been a top 3 player. Whether or not you think said performance continues or not is a matter of opinions and will play itself out. Who has out performed Trey so far this season?
I'd add he's also doing it with personnel that's doesn't fit his skilkset. He not really playing with floor spacers or high flying finishers. If that isn't enough he's doing so with limited minutes. Things change and player streak and slump, but as of right now Burke is a top 3 player on this...
I don't see where I failed to address your comment. I just don't agree with it. I don't think Burke with the way this team is playing is better off the bench.
Again this is assuming he's most effective off the bench. I'd argue it's not. The spacing is poor when he plays with Booker, Lyles, Millsap, and to an extent Burks when he's not shooting the 3's. IMO Burke would be better in the starting lineup as he will have more options. He has moved the ball...
This is a very simple way of looking at things. First Burke had a really strong preseason as the starter. Next if something isn't working then change should happen. It's an insult to Trey to assume he can only be effective off the bench.
