You also need to consider who was on the team with these guys. It is easy to get a lot of assists when you have say an overpowering big or a lights out shooter. Who was on lilliard's team in college?
I worry most about the young guys buying into the system. Now I'm not sure what Corbin's system is, but if it turns into a "got to get mine" show then we will be pretty sad. If everyone plays together it will be fun to watch and we will be better than expected.
What happens if Trey gets 12pts and 9 assists? Liked your analysis by the way. Just want to change the factors and see what that does to your projected outcome.
I ask this because I don't see this team being a typical "contender". If they want to be in contention they will have to be a...
I went with the first option. That is because I assume that Kanter gets the same stats and that the burk bros get 12 ppg and Hayward is 17 ppg with 10 asst. Yes the coolaid tastes good.
I will watch as long as they are playing hard. I don't care if they win or lose if they are actually playing as a team. I quit watching last year when they started playing like garbage. I understand missed shots and blown plays, but playing iso and taking possession off is not acceptable.
My thoughts are that a good team would have high percentages in the 0-10 and 16-20 range. That means lots of fast breaks and making the other team work on def without getting stuck against the clock.
My thoughts exactly. You could go with evens at the 3 which I think should be is position, but if you go big, you might as well go huge. If someone gets by favors on the wing. so what, gobert and kanter.
Kanter will be better at using his strength to keep bigs from getting position. Favors will be better at coming to help similar to what AK did when he was young. That mobility from favors makes me think that he would be better at guarding the stretch PFs. But we can have Williams pick up a...
I think that favors' speed makes him a better candidate for the 4 and Kanter's strength for the 5 at least on the defensive side. On offense I dont think it matter much. Kanter likely has the better pick and pop skill but favors the pick and roll. Not sure about passing on either.
pg stockton, green, Dwill
sg Pistol, griffith, horny (tough one)
sf Ak, AD (AD didnt know how to pass)
PF malone, boozer, Baily
c eaton, chambers, keefe (got to have a redheaded stepchild for sloan to put in the dog house)
Steals can be an indication of basketball IQ and situational awareness. Both of those things help out a lot in the nba. Just thinking about stockton who was a good athlete but not amazing, yet he has the most steals. May want to rethink what goes into a high steals rate.
