The HELL NO to AK and Fes Thread

I would take AK at 3-5 mil a year. He plays great defense and since I think Corbin will run the same system as sloan with a few changes, he also can help run the offense. Now a cheap Fes. At 1 -1.5 on a one year deal, I would go for that. There are a few guys that would give our bigs a hard...

Kemba Walker CANCELS workout against Jimmer!!!

Since both are seen as good offensive players. then they both have something to win if they go head to head. They have a chance to prove they can play defense on someone who can score. They have lots of tape on these guys playing offense, but they will need to man someone up on defense to...

In case you didn't know what this is...

This guy reminds me alot of Rodman. Think Rodman was a little taller but not a big early on. they both have good hops and quickness. Neither have great offensive games and rodman focused on rebounding over shot blocking, but they appear to have similar athletic abilitys.

Just Curious: Does this concern anyone else!

Just saw the interview on espn. He was talking about a bad back. Lets see, how many other big men have had back problems that have limited play time. I can think of many. This worries me since he is young. the knee thing is new to me and also raises some consern, but not as much as the back.

    Triangle Offense???

Actually, both offenses boil down to creating options. In both offenses those options cause the defense to make difficult choices and you react depending on how they decide to play.

    Triangle Offense???

The triangle works on spacing and ball movement to get open looks at the basket. You need a strong scorer that requires a doubleteam in order for it to work effectivly in the NBA. When you force the double by either driving the middle or getting the ball into the dominate big (shaq or Gasol)...

    Warriors want Sloan.

Sloan + Blake in LA = Chapionship babies.

To content for a title, Jazz need a Center

You do need a sizable front court to compete for a championship, at least in the west. Lakers have 2 7f ooters that go 4 and 5 and then a Lamar who could play the 4 on most teams playing the 3. Mavs, spurs, nuggets and even menphis have good size in the front court. The Jazz had two...

    Playoff Talk Premature

In order to match up with the lakers as they are currently, the Jazz need a big body like fes to play bynum, Al to take gasol (would actually like someone taller), favors on odum, milsap, ak or maybe evens on artest. Kobe would be hayword or AK (miles can do it when he focuses on defense). The...

So....Exactly why is Hayward not starting the rest of the season......

He is probably looking at player combinations. Favors will likely come off the bench next year unless there are personel changes. So you may see Favors and Hayword on the court together often. So this gets them acustumed to playing that way. Get them some experience against some of the less...

Fesenko +7 rest of team -

I have noticed in the past that Fes plays well when he knows he will get minutes. Bynum is a good matchup for fes. Bynum is usually able to just out size whoever guards him. He cant do that to Fes and it got too him. Now Gasol is a hard matchup for fes unless he is really focused on good...

Can players play elsewhere in a lockout? Should they?

I think that those who have contract obligations would not be able to play in leagues that mutually recongnize each others contracts. Kind of like Rubio not being able to just jump over to Minasota. I dont know for sure, but that would make sense unless they have something specific written...

    Allowing offensive rebounds

Anybody have an idea why the Jazz had alot of offensive rebounds with malone? The pick and roll. The same reason the Jazz are giving up alot of O rebounds. The pick and roll. The Jazz dont defend it well which is forcing the interior defenders to give up rebounding position.

    What's wrong with SLC?

One aspect that was likely not mentioned ( I didnt read the entire threat). Utah for the last quarter century ran a system offense. Now that can do wonders for some players stats. Players that dont require the ball in thier hands to produce. How many high profile players fit into that...

I hate to do this but I have to agree what Kobe said:

How many times have you seen Sloan tell the team to slow down on a break? I cant recall that happening onces. I do recall alot of the time him standing there and yelling to get down the court. The Jazz system tries first to get back for easy baskets when teams are in transition. If that is...

    DWill on Fes

I have to disagree with whomever said that fess playes pretty much the same all the time. What I have noticed is that when fess gets longer stretches of time on the floor, he settles down and plays pretty well. He still gets out of possition and tries to get deflections out on the perimiter...

    Is Nene available?

I would love to have nene on the Jazz. He is probably the most underrated center in the league and has pretty much owned the Jazz everytime they have played them. He has a well developed, if limited offensive skill set, good defense, size, athletic ability and rebounding. In addition, he...

the jazz have a top ten shot blocker....

Makes me wonder if 3point shooting is up? That could impact the number of blocks since most of those come close to the basket.

Jazz vs ATL Hawks - 1/5/11 7PM MST

If Sap cant play, I hope that Fes gets the start. Move Al to the Pf spot and work the paint. Get into the legs of the hawks or get them into foul trouble.

    Malone destroying Robinson's face

Did someone actually say malone was the dirtyest player? He was not a super clean player, but have you ever seen the pistons play? Bill was playing hockey without skates on. What molone did is very like what Kobe and other guards do to draw fouls. They get a player to extend thier arms then...
