Wow. Can’t believe we’re here arguing John Stockton’s greatness. This might be an all time low for this site.
And how did Karl Malone help him with becoming the all time leader in steals exactly? Arguably a more impressive feat than leading in assists.
I feel Exum could have really helped us last night against the Warriors. He at least adds some depth to our team. And let’s not forget how well he did against Harden in the playoffs.
Regardless, one thing that we can all agree on - because it’s a FACT - it’s that he gets injured a lot. Freak...
Umm... instead of questioning it, why doesn’t CP get some old tapes out and actually see for himself what Stockton was capable of. And it’s different when you didn’t even play against the man. That’s why I always respected Kobe (as much as I hated him) - he is a student of the game. You think...
Wrong lineup choice in the final minutes from Quin Imo. Ingles and Korver were ineffective all game long. Rubio was... Rubio. I would have liked to have seen
DM/Royce/Crowder/Favors/Rudy
The fact that Stock and Malone are #3 and #5 all time is simply incredible. And the only records in the NBA that I would bet on never being broken are Stockton’s assist record, and the Celtics string of championships. Also, **** Chris Paul.
No one is faulting Rubio for not being Steph Curry. But he’s also not:
Chris Paul
Westbrook
Irving
Holiday
Lillard
Walker
Wall
Lowry
And a few days others...
Let’s not overrate team chemistry. It’s a job. You’re getting paid millions of dollars - hit an open jump shot on a consistent basis man-bun.
Looks like Rubio is gone this off season - I just wish we could have gotten something back for him. Or he’s got to be ok with limited playing time and...
Kanter anyone??
But seriously... I’m just glad this is thread is over with. Now we improve internally (DM and Rudy will get even better), and focus on the off season.
At this point... no one. Which is too bad. Conley it is. Or Lowry. Still both better than Rubio imo. But what’s disappointing is that the big boys might see the potential in joying Rudy and DM here, but they’d still rather go play somewhere else. Even Conley doesn’t want to be here. And it’s not...
So Harris is gone. So is Porter. So is Parker. So is Barnes. And Porzingis. Wow. So what’s left... Conley. Lowry. Niko. None of them make us that much stronger. Not if we’re losing a combination of Rubio and Favors or Exum for them. Now I hope we don’t make a move at all until the off season...
I don’t like Conley or Lowry very much, but they are both a WAY better option for us than Rubio. Rubio. Can’t. Shoot. Rubio must go. He is simply not the answer. But we cannot give up either Favors or Exum as well if we do something.
Dude - the glamour market excuse doesn’t fly anymore. Those guys wanted out because team management was a disgrace. Not because of the location itself. And half of your examples are pre internet and social media. Interesting you didn’t mention PG to OKC. OKC! The most glamorous market in the...
And the 76 getting Harris is just the icing on the cake. Unbelievable. And Dallas getting Porzingis? What the **** are we doing?? How is DL not able to get a third star next to Rudy and DM? The time is now.
Lowry is definitely a lateral move - like most of all players discussed here. Any player that’s not a star is a lateral move. They may make us somewhat better, but they won’t put us over the top.
I didn’t realize that getting Harris would not be possible by adding Conley. This proposed trade gets a hard no from me. Conley is not the answer. He’s too old. Undersized. Doesn’t fit our timeline. Way overpaid. I know we’re all desperate for a move, but let’s not blow this chance on Conley.
