I think we’re gonna see some dudes shipped off to LA.
I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. We are so loaded with picks in ‘27 and ‘29 already. I’d rather get into the ‘24 draft or get another in next year’s draft.
To balance out the picks, the deal with the Lakers made more sense when...
I mean, we have three picks in next year’s draft. That’ll be plenty.
We need to find a way to turn Beasley and Clarkson into 2024 picks. Assuming of course Bogey/Conley are heading to LA.
As a Kansas fan and grad, Och is one of my favorite Jayhawks ever. Such a good kid and fun player.
Beyond stoked. I think we’ve cleaned all the Duke taint from this program now, right?
I feel like swaps are overvalued around here. If NY ends up being better than us the swap is worthless. NY will likely be better than us for the next 2-3 years at least so the swaps would have to come much further down the line to have a chance at having any value.
And even then, Michell is 25...
With the passage of time, if it was RJ+ matching salary + 2 unprotected + the three junk first + they were taking Gay’s salary, I probably would have done that deal.
Hope Ainge makes me feel stupid and ends up with a trove of picks. If Ainge can get Toppin + Grimes + 3 unprotected + 2 junk FRPs...
While we may be bringing Mitchell into camp, I have a hard time seeing us bringing all of Bogey, Clarkson, Conley, and Beasley into camp.
I have to think it’s time to start executing some of the other moves if the Don/Knicks talks are off for now.
How is Ainge being irrational? Donovan Mitchell is worth more than RJ Barrett, junk matching salary, and two unprotected FRPs.
Trading a 25 year-old multi-time All-Star with three guaranteed years left is unprecedented. We should get an unprecedented haul for that. If Knicks don’t want to pay...
I am team “we don’t want RJ.” I think we want a war chest of picks and young players.
I am interested in seeing if we start selling off the older players now that Mitchell talks are going on pause for a while. The cats out of the bag now on the tank, and we can tank now with Don. Best to cash...
They are supposed to report the Jazz side of this/response to this.
This is going to drag out even longer now, but ultimately this may be nothing more than PR fodder for the Knicks when they surrender a war chest of picks and young players — “hey, we kept RJ though.”
