Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

No. It would be like if I met five Bobs who were all jerks, and was told by multiple people that the sixth Bob would be a jerk too. I don't know if that's the case, as I haven't met him, but based on my history with Bobs, and the fact there's multiple indicators here without even meeting Bob #6...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

I think it doesn't matter what team Utah puts on the court, it's clear this franchise has a very consistent norm - at least the last 22 years. It's not a coincidence the Jazz have only advanced to the Conference Finals once since the 1999 season. Anyone who thinks Utah is better than their...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

I think we've seen enough evidence from Utah over the last four-plus years to know 2021 was the anomaly - not 2022, where they finished pretty much with the same seed (give it take one spot) since getting back to the playoffs in 2017.

Hi future Sean. Sending good vibes that Utah is up 2-0 heading into this game - or at least 1-1. Love, Past Sean

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

Goin' off the posts above saying Dallas fans are convinced he's going to be returning for game one or two.

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

And see, unfortunately I look at 2021 as the year where COVID really impacted seeding. I think the Jazz was inflated all around and are likely more in line with where they fell this season, which is pretty much exactly where they've been the last 20 years.

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

Dallas fans sound like Jazz fans with Conley during the Clippers series last year lmao

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

That's the point. The idea that the regular season doesn't define the postseason is ridiculous. You are likely your seed and therefore if you're a five seed, you're not a contender. The Jazz are a five seed for a reason. It's not for a lack of trying to be good, like some assume, and rather a...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

I don't think there will be anything meaningful accomplished with or without him to be honest. Even if Utah were to beat Dallas in the 4/5 match-up with Luka, this season will still be a massive disappointment. It'll be the same replay of pretty much every season we've experienced in the 21st...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

I don't think the Jazz are contenders, though. They're a fifth seed for a reason and go through the history of the NBA Playoffs, at least from 1950, and you'll see only nine teams in history have made the Finals with a seed lower than three. Only one, Houston in 1995, actually won it. 9 teams...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

Since 2000, the Jazz in the first round: 36-41...and 10-25 in the second round. So, we're slightly worse than average in first-round games (though 6-2 in that 4/5 match-up) and terrible in the semifinals. Make of this what you will.

    Get as Horny as possible.

    Yet another Q rumor

I agree that he's not likely okay with it. That makes finding our Horny important this off-season if possible.

    Yet another Q rumor

We're doing what the franchise did in the Stockton and Malone era: essentially keep the core two and throw in minor pieces and hope it elevates the team to an actual contender. You've just got to hope there's a Horny out there and that the two can stick together while the process unfolds like...

Does anyone still like this team?

Does anyone still like this team?

Only losing franchises say the regular season doesn't matter. We heard the same all last year with the Lakers and wouldn't you know? The regular season mattered. The Lakers just weren't very good and had anyone paid attention to the regular season, they would have seen that. The last time a...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

Kinda reminds me of the 2008 Houston series where Yao Ming was out and the Jazz won the first two games in Houston, lost game three, won game four, lost game five and closed out the Rockets in six. Of course, not totally equal, as Houston still had McGrady, and really, the longer this series...

Jazz vs. Mavs in round one

Yes. Jazz won games one and two in Salt Lake, then lost games three and four before Calvin Booth scores the game-winning layup in game five, eliminating the Jazz. That was it for the Jazz in the Stockton and Malone era. They would make the playoffs two more times but lose to the Kings both...

Trade the Jazz for a low-rent NHL team like the Coyotes.
