Started today just a little bummed because the draft won't be as exciting without a first rounder.
Now I will spend my entire day on twitter hoping the Jazz can pull this off. If they get Conley + one of Paschall, Windler, Edwards, etc I won't sleep until October.
you really don't think there is an upside to getting better even if it doesn't mean a championship? We have two statues of players that never brought a title. Being a Jazz fan in 97 and 98 was glorious (until Dick Bavetta...) Getting better matters, and it's fun. Getting better for two years...
You crazy. 2 picks like 23 and 21 are nothing like the 3 first rounders they gave up for Pierce.
I hope the Jazz don't give up 2 picks as well, but come on...
Frankly, I suspect Portland is just genuinely trying to rest their top players.
In other words, they may not care as much if they play OKC or Utah, but they do want Dame and CJ to be rested for whoever they do play.
So I suspect they rest those two, then try to win tonight with who they've got.
Why am I suddenly not scared of OKC? Every time I've watched them this year I've wondered how long Paul George could stand watching Westbrook shoot 25% while shooting 30 times. Last night PG disappeared. Wasn't even an offensive factor in the last 6 minutes + OT.
I never thought I'd see teams...
Exactly. Orlando was so ugly. But defense was good.
Tonight is how the Jazz win. If the starting guards are even decent it's a double digit win. But the elite defense is how the Jazz get this season rolling.
Is it weird that in this era of 3 point shooting neither of our Finals teams starts a shooter?
I'm going with because that Payton, Wade, Hill trifecta is terrific and because Robert Parrish is totally underrated.
I totally get that it's not as easy to move up and grab a guy as we like to make it out to be.
But it sure killed me that Melton was so close. Sure felt like there could have been a move made to move up a few spots and grab him. I would have been happy with Melton at 21, would have felt really...
Jerk. Yes.
But he also seems horribly passive aggressive to me. It was clear the only reason he denied the Boston decision when it leaked was so he could write his wonderful article that was supposed to make all of Utah feel better. It was his way of easing his conscience.
Then doesn't have...
One of the Stepien contributors put out his big board, he does a nice job of justifying his picks all the way through 100.

He sums up what I like about Evans and Brown nicely.
Spoiler, he doesn't love Robinson...
