My wife is cool with the sports "investing", mostly because I usually only talk about it when I just won:-). In reality I'm small time, and usually take out more than I put in over the course of a year. She always just tells me to buy her something if I win big.
Both my wife and I work for now, and we just pool everything into one joint account. I think it's easier to do if you get married relatively young before either party has substantial assets. We keep a healthy reserve in checking, with the rest invested to our Roth IRAs or 401ks. She is really...
You're missing something here, the money for the boise football package is retained by the conference and distributed evenly among all teams. There are bonuses for national tv appearances but other than that they are on equal footing with the rest of the conference. If byu's goal is maximum...
If Chuckie is transferring, he's doing his best Gary Anderson impression:
@ustate16 Badgernation would open our arms to you Chuckie!!
@PDCBiRd sorry but the #AggieNation has already closed theirs around me
My biggest concern is recruiting, and if players that were comitted to coming next year will now have a bad taste in the mouth about USU as a whole. Barnes needs to find an exciting, up and coming type coach (like GA was 4 years ago), and find him fast.
I agree with all of that. Sucks, but we'll survive, just like what Utah had to deal with when Urban left. Can't say I wouldn't have done the same if I was Gary, money talks.
Ugli aren't you living in St. George right now? I'd take Logan any day before St. George. In fact, having lived all over the country, I would take Logan over almost any place. I think Gary truly loved living there and raising his family there, but enough money will change a lot of peoples minds...
It's merely an example of what fan support COULD be like for football should a winning tradition continue to develop. I don't think that the team will fall apart just because Gary is gone, look at what happened to Boise State when their coach left and Peterson took over.
A VPN is the way to go. I posted about it a bit when people were looking for a way to watch Jazz games on NBA League Pass Broadband when they were located in the SLC area. Basically it routs your traffic through a different location, for instance my VPN lets me pick from servers located...
I think part of it is to avoid the clique problem talked about earlier in the thread. If you let people go to any ward that they want, then you will have "cool" wards and "old people" wards, etc. Having it based strictly based on geography forces people to mingle with those that they might not...
Yeah that is a tricky spot. Your best bet is to go with Directv then you would get the games as long as you subscribed to the sports pack, I think dish network would also work.

Root sports rocky Mountain is what is showing big Sky football, the sub feed, root sports Utah, is showing the Jazz. Where are you located? If you are in the Jazz home territory you should be getting the correct sub feed.

I second that. I use a great vpn that cost me 40 a year, and has servers to connect to around the country and world. Let me watch Pirates games on MLB.tv in Pittsburgh. PM me if you want to know more.

Yup you will never get a jazz game online unless you live outside the tv viewing area. I think eventually that rule will change, but for now it is what it is. It's worse for me in Pittsburgh, we're technically in Cavs territory so I'm blacked out on league pass, but FSN Ohio is not broadcast...
