This team has some nice pieces and a great coach.
One big problem though is that there are at least 4 players who wouldn't be in the NBA if they weren't on the Jazz.
Dante Exum
Raul Neto
Thabo Sefolosha (as a 34 year old)
Georges Niang
There's also an argument to add Royce O'Neale, but I...
As time goes on I'm getting more and more interested in Spencer Dinwiddie. The numbers being thrown around for an extension for him with the Nets were like 4 years/$48 million, but it doesn't look like he's taking it. If the Jazz could get him for 3 years/$48 million I would be all over that. He...
The strength of schedule argument is stupid because guess what? The Jazz will have the toughest SOS in the NBA again due to our division. It really isn't going to get that much easier.
The Jazz' love affair with Exum is making me question Dennis Lindsey's ability as a GM. If he weren't the 5th pick in the draft or on the Jazz, I'm not even sure Dante Exum would be in the NBA right now. He isn't good.
A problem isn't necessarily Exum but that fact that he's eating up $9 million cap space that could go towards signing a better player. Exum is definitely a net negative overall.
IMO dumping Exum, who is not a good player and on a bad contract, is how the Jazz get better. They can try again with the cash. It could go towards a guy like Dinwiddie.
Can you believe that we could have Bjelica who is shooting 46% from the 3 and averaging 11 ppg on this team right now for cheap instead of Niang?! Dennis Lindsey chose to try to develop Niang and Keep Thabo/Udoh over signign Bjelica. It's absurd.
The thing about the Korver trade is that I feel like now the Jazz won't be making any moves for a while. Things are all of a sudden looking up and they want to see where this core goes with Korver now. They could be presented with an amazing opportunity but because they're so reactive instead of...
So realistically, is there even a viable offer the Jazz could put forward to get him?
2019 1st & Favors? Surely someone has a better offer than that. Though Favors is appealing because of his expiring deal.
I wonder if they’d have any interest in Royce O’neale to add defensive depth at the...
I'd add,
Rozier
Ariza
I think Tim Hardaway is officially off the list too. NY is going to potentially use him to trade for or lure a big free agent. With Jimmy Butler off the table I don't think they need to clear that much cap space now.
I just don't see any feasible trade that the Jazz & Phoenix would both agree to for Ariza. I think there's teams out there that can and would make a more appealing offer than Ariza.
One thing is for sure though and that is that the Jazz won't trade Favors for Ariza.
Here's a sample of what our cap space could look like next season if we traded for Porter this year and then signed Rozier in the offseason. We'd still have roughly $6 million remaining for filler pieces plus exception type deals and veteran's minimum slots.
C) Rudy Gobert
F) Otto Porter
F) Joe...
The more I think about it the more I love the Terry Rozier idea. As long as he keeps sitting the bench in Boston behind Irving, his price tag is coming down and he's more eager to get a starting role somewhere. He's a Louisville guy with Mitchell and they have a friendship. I think he's a...
Based off where things are at right now, the two guys most Jazz fans had pegged I think have officially become pipe dreams. We aren't getting Middleton or Tobias Harris. They won't want to leave their current teams to come to the Jazz.
I think Tim Hardaway and Spencer Dinwiddie are both real...
Do people realize what it would do for this offense to have Mirotic scoring from the outside right wing like that?! I'd also like to add that Bjelica is currently the 2nd leading 3 point % shooter in the NBA at 51%. That would also do wonders for this offense.
I've been skeptical the Jazz could/would put even close to the best offer together for Beal. I must say though, that is a good offer. Being able to shed Mahimni's contract and get a 1st round draft pick would be incredible for Washington. It really would save them $40 million off the books for...
