You can break it down geographically. This thread already provided the research on which states have lots of people who don't pay income taxes. They were predominantly red states. You can also break it down demographically. In addition to children, don't forget that lots of military and elderly...

I can't believe that this is not so obvious to everybody. Apparently about 46-47% of the people in the country don't pay income tax. That is about the same % of the vote he would get if the election were held today. He made the assertion that these groups are both made up of the same people...
