    Liking the vibe...

That's the difference when the front-office actually gets things done than just talking about how they say they've tried to get things done. It would've been much harder to be be filled with 'jubilation' if the front-office again could only talk about having tried to get people than seeing the...

My Utah Jazz 2010-2011 Depth Chart:

Jefferson will start at PF. He has supposedly for some time been considered a Boozer replacement, and therefore not a starting C, so the Jazz weren't really keen on starting Millsap if they could help it. Sap's down to back-up PF again. Did I miss it or are Utah media just too lazy to get...

Forget the poll - Jazz just DID sign Raja Bell

I would've voted no in the Bell poll, as there were a number of other options, but now that it's done, signing Bell does seem to make some sense. As the team currently stands, with Jefferson in, that pushes Millsap to back-up PF again and AK mainly as starting SF. That puts CJ at starting SG...

Al Jefferson highlight mix vs. Jazz

Nice, prodigy. Thanks for putting it up. Jefferson really looks to be a solid addition. But, Memo's going to get owned by opposing bigs again (also futile and inutile as last line of defense vs cutting wings). And Sap looked short too.

    Doufos is gone

Koufos to back up Milicic. Go Minny. KOC probably had to plead the Wolves to take Koufos. This should also banish the misconception that a TPE trade can't involve other players. As long as Jefferson fit in the TPE, it was fine to include others as long as other trade rules were met (Minny had...

    AK for Harrington?

Where'd you get that? AFAIK, teams don't renounce player rights until they have to (the moment they're signing/absorbing players). For example, Miami still have Bird rights on Haslem; they didn't have to renounce him to get cap space for their Big Three. Or NY itself still had the rights to Lee...

    AK for Harrington?

Don't think so. As has been pointed out by others and as I also noted above, the Jazz are at about the luxury tax level when they used the Boozer TPE to absorb Jefferson. That now makes using the MLE on Harrington, or even Matthews, probably a no-go for the FO and owners.

    AK for Harrington?

How about AK to NY for Harrington S&T, Curry's expiring, a pick and cash. First off, Eddy Curry's useless; hopefully he can later be bought out for less. Now, AK will make 17.8; Curry's in for 11.3. The difference of 6.5 can be offered to Harrington as starting salary. This trumps the 5.8...

Big Al...if true, Center or PF?

I thought of it and yeah, it does. Half of this has to do with what happens to Millsap. Not whether Jefferson should start at C alongside Sap or who should come off the bench or whatever. This is about the idea of altogether changing that undersized Boozer-Sap combo used to close games with a...

Big Al...if true, Center or PF?

If the Jazz get Jefferson, trade Millsap for a C? You’ve heard the name: Gortat. We all know that if given a chance, Sloan’s going to throw a Millsap-Jefferson frontline at the Lakers. Great that Big Al’s an inch taller than Boozer but that PF-C combo will obviously be undersized again at...

I Agree with Locke- Get Al Harrington

I do agree with Harrington for the MLE. A 6-9 scoring SF to pick up some of the offense lost with Boozer leaving. If you’re referring to using the Boozer TPE for Gortat and Bass, I’d rather use the Harp TPE for Gortat. Then just get AK to back up Sap, with Evans or some training camp standout...

Rebuilding the Jazz in a day, no tax

Yawn. Is that you Greg telling me to buy my own team or just one of his kiss-asses? Option I'm taking: I'll keep posting anything I want in this message board. Thanks and bye.

Rebuilding the Jazz in a day, no tax

What should the Jazz work toward anyway? Cap space? Very few want to play in Utah unless they're overpaid. The Jazz can't even keep their own players. The Jazz need to trade for players that could help Deron before he also bolts in a couple of years. Yeah I forgot to add that everything in the...

Rebuilding the Jazz in a day, no tax

    1) AK and a pick for Al Jefferson 2) Boozer TPE and a pick for Iguodala 3) Harp TPE for Gortat 4) MLE for Al Harrington Based on hoopshype figures, Jazz salaries after above moves: 76.8M for 11 players The cost-cutting moves: 1) Millsap for TPE or under-the-cap team and a pick 2)...

    Hayward's Summer League Stats

Per 48 is so useless. Nobody plays 48. Especially in 40-minute summer league games.

    Jazz-Sixers idea again: Iggy+EB for AK+TPE

If it's possible to get Iguodala only for the TPE and a pick, and not to have to involve Brand in this, that would be really great. I still think Philly insists on including Brand but if the TPE and a pick for Iggy is enough, absolutely. After absorbing Iggy for the Boozer TPE, it would be...

    Jazz-Sixers idea again: Iggy+EB for AK+TPE

That 17.8M figure is only entirely accurate if the Jazz keep AK the rest of the year and don't re-sign him or get a replacement after that in the next 3-4 years, don't match Wes's 34M, and not do anything else.

    Jazz rebuilt too fast

Miami doesn't have the market size of LA or Chicago or even NY or Dallas but let's see what they did: 2003 -- Draft Wade 5th overall, build team around him 2006 -- Win championship Late 2006 to early 2010 -- so-so years 2010 -- Re-sign Wade, add Lebron, Bosh, all through 2014, probably win...

    Jazz-Sixers idea again: Iggy+EB for AK+TPE

If the Jazz are where they're now plus match Wes, it would only be about $6M less -- that also gives the Jazz the team from last year minus Boozer and Korver (and no Fes yet) but with Hayward. I'd rather the Jazz go for this trade around Iggy.

    Jazz-Sixers idea again: Iggy+EB for AK+TPE

Like I said, Iguodala fits in the Boozer TPE. And AK and Brand's salaries match. That you can't combine a TPE in a trade is in the sense for example that you can't use an 8M TPE and a 5M player to trade for a 13M player. But, you can trade a 13M TPE for a 13M player in the same instance as...
