Is Georges Niang Good at Defense Now?

I would love Bogey at his current price if Utah was better/bigger/more athletic defensively. I just think it's not ideal to have him/Joe/Niang/runts(Conley/Mitch)/Clarkson on the floor together, could possibly be the reason the Jazz don't win the chip, but I'm still optimistic.

Is Georges Niang Good at Defense Now?

So Cy, you'd prefer to pay Bojan the remaining $38m/2 than give Niang a 3 yr deal for around $20 total?

Is Georges Niang Good at Defense Now?

I'd prefer Niang to Bojan, honestly. Niang is actually disruptive defensively and gives great effort all the time, athleticism be da$ned. Bojan is the second coming of a more unathletic Boozer on defense and has a no rebound gene to go along with it. Has made huge plays down the stretch a few...

Game Thread Apr 24, 2021 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Wolves

It's actually a fine and pleasant misery watching this. The Jazz can't shoot, pass, or rebound, and somehow they are only down 9. I've never seen them look this pedestrian. It would be funny if it wasn't. Conley and Clarkson haven't made a good decision on either end and Rudy looks flummoxed...

This thread is for everyone who has lost their minds about Royce

Royce is a below average basketball player with extremely limited offensive diversity for his size, and can't really guard bigger players and doesn't have the athleticism to guard elite smaller players. It's interesting how he ever got the reputation for being a defensive stopper, cuz he just...

Game Thread Apr 07, 2021 08:00PM MT: Jazz at Suns

They simply have to play harder. No urgency for loose balls, no desire to slow or impede progress for Suns on fast break opportunities combined with our players having absolutely no give a crap to hustle and get back. We don't have one main player that fights hard for rebounds not in the...

    Hamstring help!

Definitely no heat if it's been less than 48-72 hours since initial injury. Cold/compression every two hours for twenty minutes for the first 24/48 hours produces incredible results despite obvious inconvenience. Complete rest from a lifting/muscular exertion program for the lower body for at...

January 2021 State of the Jazz Address

Lopo, if Don became Jordan overnight, that would be enough. Arrange that, would you? At his best, Donovan isn't in the same realm as Jordan on either end. There is 5.5" of height diff, so that matters.

    John Stockton Article

Stockton had a five year period, maybe four, that his average numbers were better than those Nash achieved in the year he was named MVP. Think about that. Stockton and Malone are not talked about where they should be because they didn't win the chip. Sucks, but that's the reality, and they will...

The official: Rudy isn't max money.

Gobert is worth the max! With the team as currently constructed, he's not worth the supermax because our interior passing and lob capabilities are well below average. You guys complain about his hands but most of the time the passes he misses are tipped or thrown way harder than necessary or...

I bet $7,600 on the Jazz to beat the Raptors

Mitchell and Bogey will win the fourth.

I bet $7,600 on the Jazz to beat the Raptors

Mitchell and Gobert need to sit. They are bad, their effort is inexcusable. Mitchell is just throwing stuff off the board.

Getting diddled by Hayward: a game thread

Too bad Clarkson picked tonight to have his worst game as a Jazz player since Bojan already had dibs.

    Why Pessimism?

As bad as this is, and it's bad, I still think the Jazz will be better in the playoffs, if they get there, than they were last year. In the playoffs you need shot creators and Utah has 2.1 instead of just 1. Adding JC adds one and Conley occasionally can create so he gets a .1. If Don and JC...

Poll: Should the Conley Experiment End?

It's a 45M dollar loss, but the Jazz should really just cut Mike, I mean they wasted about the same amount on Grosstertag. And I liked the idea of Mike and was for the trade since Rubio was not going to get us anywhere. But, I was so over it before trade deadline, had admitted I was wrong, and...

I'm no longer a Snyder fan.

Yes, agree. Disagreed with it as soon as I heard about it. It would be one thing if he was showing that his game was expanding and he was becoming a versatile scorer. Also, ever since he got it, his effort has been about %75 of normal. Maybe he is playing hurt, but he's been a shell of his...

Jazz @ Rockets 5:00 PM MT Game Thread

Conley is a really good player, and the Jazz will adjust to playing with him, even Mitchell. It's going to take a bit longer and there will be a fair amount of give and take. It's ok if everyones stats decrease a bit if the efficiency is there. The offense will be fine, and the defense should be...

Trail Blazers @ Jazz 8:30 PM MT: THE LOSING STREAK ENDS TONIGHT

Possibly. What are the rules for a ball in play off the glass where the ball has no chance of touching any part of the rim nor will it pass over any part of the cylinder area? Where does it become legal to touch? Does it matter if it’s a member of the team on offense or defense?
