  1. Lion's Roar

    Al/Paul Lineups since 2010/11

Even in the same team with same team mates the stat can be misleading. See Chalmers/Bosh.
  2. Lion's Roar

    Al/Paul Lineups since 2010/11

PER has it's troubles. But so does +/-. See Mario Chalmers. +13.2 or the 5th highest in the league. Man if I played with Lebron I could probably get a pretty high +/- as well. Then the guy that anchors some offense when Lebron is sitting like Bosh is at +4.0. Is Chalmers really better than Bosh...

Should we be concerned with this stat?

4.9, 6.1, 9.9, 8.7, 13, 13.51 11.7 That's Millsap's FGA. It's normal to suffer some drop in FG% with the increase in attempts. Other thing is that Millsap's Orb has dropped and there aren't enough of those high percentage shots. The other problem is that indeed Paul is put into isolation to work...

Jazz Starting Lineup and Rotations for Rest of the Season

Abdur-Rahim isn't an outlier. He was a 20 and 8 player that was an All-Star. Yet only managed to get to the playoffs once very late on his career. Finding great players that played a lot of mins is easy. They were great players from the get go. But playing a lot doesn't guarantee that they will...

Jazz Starting Lineup and Rotations for Rest of the Season

Mo Williams used 25% of his offense tracked on Sinergy Sports on the PnR ball handler. The #1 type of shot he took. Or maybe Al steps on their feet, or Corbin informs the other team before hand what they will do. I bring up stats by a reputable source and you accuse me of making up stats and...

Top 5 on/off court by 82games.com 2011-12: Chris Paul Ryan Anderson Steve Nash Kevin Garnett Blake Griffin PER: James Paul Wade Durant Love So yes I don't like it when ppl are using +/- or on court/ off court and talking trash of PER. I can go get the post where ppl were referring to...

If you are referring to my post. You can go and bother Sinergy for their "made up stats".

    Shareef Abdur-Rahim....Look it up.

    Scott Machado is available

When they release him Machado was puting up about 5 TO per game and shooting dreadfully in the d-league. Maybe the Jazz sign him after they release Bell on MArch the 2nd. This way Bell can't sign with the Lakers and the Jazz can pick up Machado cause he's a FA before the March 1st cut date.

Jazz Starting Lineup and Rotations for Rest of the Season

You must be confusing what is a jumpshot and what is a jumpshot of a curl. A jumpshot a lot of the guys can make. Of a curl I've seen Hayward miss quite a few. marvin can hit them tough. The other guys are more of a standup shooter not someone you can rely to move, fight trough screens and take...
  11. Lion's Roar

    Al/Paul Lineups since 2010/11

And yet we sit here discussing +/-??? There probably isn't any stat that is closer to pointless. Maybe adjusted +/- could be better but I don't know HOW they adjust it so I can't speak to it. I would rather pay Millsap the money they got and keep him then signing any of those two. But that...
  12. Lion's Roar

Jazz Starting Lineup and Rotations for Rest of the Season

If you take Al out of the lineup the 3 point shooter get less space, Millsap is the focal point of the offense and more importantly of the opposing defense. You want more movement but do you think this lineup has player that can hit a jump shot of a curl? Probably one of the best ones at that is...
  13. Lion's Roar

    Al/Paul Lineups since 2010/11

Is Millsap better than Ilyasova or Anderson? Cause they posted PER's of 20.6 and 21.5 (or whatever) in their contract years. They rebounded as well if not better than Paul and guess what they can shoot 3's in bunches and in the new NBA stretch 4's are really a hot commodity and yet with all...

Jazz Starting Lineup and Rotations for Rest of the Season

I'll like to point out that I don't agree with everything Corbin has done. But fans can't say "Play the youth" "Develop for the future" and then when Corbin plays the youth together they argue they want mix and match of the lineups. He's playing them together so they can learn to play together...

Carl Landry is being paid $4M. David West got a 2 year $20M contract, Illiasova and Anderson got contracts at $8M a year. Chris Kaman $8M one year. Yet ppl think it's a good idea to pay Millsap $12M a year for 4 years. Really? Sometimes when I get mad at the FO I just remind myself what would...

Little math about the Luxury Tax

Lakers resign Howard and get about the same payroll as this year of $100M. Luxury Tax hit would be: $72.250.000 Total $ spent: $172.250.000 Lakers resign Howard but trade Gasol for cap space. Payroll at $80M Luxury Tax hit would be $11.000.000 Total $ spent: $91.000.000...
