OK, by now the Jazz advanced to the 12th pick position. They are still in the play-in range. Just a couple of more losses and Utah can ascend to the top-4 in the West.

Great job! At the moment ESPN shows the Jazz in the standings in the play-in position (10th in the West) and as having the 11th worst record in the NBA (i.e. the Jazz pick goes to OKC). The Jazz simply do not know how to tank.

It would be funny if Kessler finally broke out of his sophomore slump at the same exact time when Keyonte entered it.

That's because Clarkson can create his own shot, while Hendricks and Cody cannot.

Get your tinfoil hats: Jazz starters don't come out after halftime.

Well, does the Jazz do the postgame coach-players meetings to talk about the game? If so then they need all of their players in there and that means that the starters will have to start lifting weights well after 10, which is really not ideal.

Actually, the first two games, against Portland and GSW, are exactly the games where you want to go all out and compete for wins. - you need some wins to build confidence of young players. The first two games - against strong, non-tanking teams (but not contenders) are exactly the games you can...

Also, I good test of how well Keyonte and Sexton can hold up against quick guards able to penetrate.

I will be looking for the Kessler-Edey matchup. Also, if Lauri or Hendricks could exploit the mismatches: one of them will likely be guarded by a much smaller player. With Kessler-Hendricks-Lauri the Jazz are really long in the frontcourt but it would be useless unless they can effectively use...

    Are the Jazz Not Bad?

Whoever we trade for should be a Euro. It's no coincidence that teams in small/unattractive markets are happy with their euro stars (Jokic, Giannis, Markkanen) and the same teams with the American stars are constantly - and rightfully - worrying about them leaving (Minnesota with Ant, Utah with...

There will be plenty of minutes for Filipowski. Kessler will get about 27 mpg (because his role is very demanding physically and due to some small-ball matchups where he is not ideal), Hendricks - about 28mpg (you cannot throw a second year player in for 32+ minutes). That leaves 96-(27+28)=41...

Why Collins?! Collins would be just fine as the bench center and we need to pump up whatever the trade value he has anyway. Flip should take all his minutes from Eubanks. Bringing in Eubanks for 5 million was the most unnecessary, head-scratching signing of the entire Ainge era. "But why?"

And that what gives me the pause thinking about Kessler's future on the Jazz. There are many experienced centers who are currently better than Kessler but the hope was that Kessler gets better with age and moves up in the rankings. However, every new season we get two more young centers who are...

Filipowski was probably our best player this game. I don't know how to feel about that.

The alack of good point guards on the Jazz is pretty glaring. They will collect plenty losses because of that.

Blazers can really play defense and are really long. Avdija looks great, Klingan is impactful, the 3-point shooting is on the point... They may easily finish higher than the Jazz.

    Last 2 starting spots

It's kind of surprising but cool seeing the poll results that show that pretty much everyone thinks that Hendricks should start. Given the amount of criticism that Hendricks received here all throughout the last season and the Summer League. And also given the fact that the Jazz have a good...

I didn't know that! So, somehow he is the same size as Mitchell but to me he somehow looks noticeably smaller and more exploitable on defense. Has this measurement been done with his current hairstyle though? Maybe there is a chance Collin really improves on D then? He is essentially the same...
