    Off-Season Rumblings

Depends on where we are drafting. Next year, for example, Flagg, Bailey, Harper and Traore, could all become better primary offensive players than Lauri. The Jazz would need a top 5 pick though.

    Off-Season Rumblings

The problem with trading for an established star is that we'd be acquiring a 2-year or 3-year contract. It doesn't give us much of a window to work with if the player won't extend. The best teams start by drafting a foundational star that they have on 7 or 8 years of team control. That gives...

    Off-Season Rumblings

The Jazz don't have much advantage creation or isolation scoring. They're not built for the playoffs right now. It would just be more Colin Sexton and Keyonte trying to attack the defense to create something. We'd get pushed out of the playoffs like the Kings did this year. The competitive...

    Off-Season Rumblings

Zach Lavine has a player option at $49M for the 26/27 season. Most teams are going to consider his contract prohibitive. He might be a fit for the Lakers if they think they can squeeze out one more playoff run.

As an archetype, Topic is probably more comparable to James Harden as a freshman at ASU. Harden then entered the draft as a sophomore.

One thing you can be confident about Gleague Ignite last year: No one was setting up bigs, or moving the ball in any consistent or coherent way.

What Topic *can* do is beat defenders off the dribble, get to the rim at a high rate and drill passes all over the court. He's easily the best pure playmaker in the draft, imo. Meanwhile, the Jazz might be the most limited playmaking team in the league.

The tier system basically works. If you think a player is in a higher tier, then draft that player. If you have multiple players in the same tier, then draft the one that fits positionally or fits your blueprint for the future better. If Dillingham is passed over by 9+ teams, that means those...

    2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

The Jazz need to decide how they want to play. I think Will Hardy has been adapting to the limited talent on the roster thus far. My guess is that they’d like to build around a dynamic wing or wing-sized guard who can create advantages and self-create against wing-sized defenders. If that’s the...

I think Kenny Lofton could have an impact in a playoff series with the way he uses his body and self-creates. He's going to be interesting to watch.

David Locke made the observation that the Twolves are a below-average offensive team. They sure look that way tonight. Dallas is on a heater, but the Twolves can't score.
