How would you draft the top 11 players now, knowing what you know, for the NBA and not a summer-league style game. Someone may have already done one like this, and I may be accused of being a homer, but here's my list: () = actual draft number. There are no obvious super-stars yet.

Derrick Favors (3)
Paul George (10)
Greg Monroe (7)
Gordon Hayward (9)
DeMarcus Cousins (5)
Evan Turner (2)
John Wall (1)
Ed Davis (13)
Ekpe Udoh (6)
Wesley Johnson (4)
AlFarouq Aminu (8)

Wow, very homeristic.

I don't know how you don't take John Wall #1 overall...he's putting up great numbers on an absolutely terrible team. And having Wes Johnson that high is going to make Cy's fat face explode.

Do you like Aminu more than Johnson?

I was wondering what your take would be on this. Do you still like your Kentucky boys as much as you did when they were there? If Cousins played smarter and wasn't high-maintenance, he'd be my number one pick. Not a fan of Wall's D, but he may be lower than merited.

Wall will never live up to the hype, but still goes first. Johnson might be hard pressed to make the first round.

You have a 21 year old PG who's averaging 18, 8 an 5 in his 2nd year on an absolutely terrible team going 7th overall. That's beyond ludicrous. Oh and he average about 1.5 spg, his defense really isn't that bad...I think you need to watch a little more of him.

And despite being high-maintenance, DeMarcus Cousins is putting up 17/11 in Sac Town. I rate bigs higher than guards. Here's how I'd rank the first several. Please keep in mind, I'm not ranking on potential. Favors could very well turn out to be the best of the bigs; he just hasn't shown consistency nor gotten the PT of the others. Udoh is going to be a late bloomer too. He was just starting to get some opportunity in GS and taking advantage.

Cousins
Wall
George
Monroe
Hayward
Favors
Turner

John Wall
Favors
Cousins
Turner
Monroe
George
Hayward
Davis
Udoh
Aminu
Johnson

(If we are limited to lottery picks only, Im sure I could find some people to replace Aminu and Johnson)

For those that have asked .. this list is good. I would swap 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 4 and 5 ... with Turner in the hunt all the way to 4'ish. Sounds like a lot, but very similar.

My EXACT thoughts.

I see Wall as a Monta Ellis type of a player, and who else would score the points if he didn't? Here are the Synergy offensive efficiency numbers on our young guards and Ellis and Wall. First one is PPP and the second is their rank.

Hayward (.94) 111
Burks (.91) 160
Monta Ellis (.91) 160
John Wall (.85) 254

What is it about Cousins 43% field goal percentage, lack of defense, and lack of conditioning that makes him a #1 pick?

LOL. You're honestly comparing Monta Ellis to John Wall? I could write a lengthy post on how wrong you are, but it's not worth the time, you clearly don't know a lot about basketball.

Agree with everything Cy has said here. Cousins has a tremendous amount of potential, but he's shooting 43% and I just don't think he'll ever be as good as he should be. Very inefficient player.
