2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

After the time it must have taken Cabbage to bump all these posts I expected to see Buzelis with a better stat line than 10pts on 11 shots.

The Summer League has definitely helped me change my tune on Buzelis, I can see the prospect now. But, I'm not sure I've ever seen a poster overreact to Summer League as much as Cabbage is doing right now.
He's a Trump guy

Top 10 ppg from the rookies in pre-season:
1. Knecht 18.0
2. Risacher 16.0
3. Wells 14.4
4. Dadiet 13.0
5. McCain 12.8
6. Edey 12.2
7. Salaun 11.8
8. Mitchell 11.5
9. Kolek 11.5
10. Sarr 11.3

I wonder how long it takes Dadiet to get in the rotation. The Knicks are extremely top heavy with their wings. After OG/Mikal/Hart, can you actually name a wing on their team? One injury and they are out a rotation spot on the wing. Seems like Dadiet may be next up.

Jaylen Wells is someone who I barely knew anything about and has now followed up a great summer league with a great pre-season.
He had a lot of hype from draft twitter as a sleeper pick. Makes sense he went to Memphis, a team that often drafts "Draft Twitter" darlings.

Prior to pre-season, I thought the top 5 rookies would be: Sheppard, Castle, Ware, Williams and Knecht.

It's looking like Risacher and Edey are going to make some noise. Salaun too.

All the Edey love is just hilarious.

Guy puts up some stats in the preseason (which is almost as bad as summer league) on inflated usage and people suddenly talk like Memphis is now going to have to "integrate him into their offense" or something. Yeah... I'm sure the Grizzlies will run tons of slow-as-molasses post-ups for Edey so he can grind things to a halt and take those line drive jump hooks from mid-paint. Not to mention destroying their spacing.

The rules haven't changed. A plodding traditional center who can't shoot or guard pick-and-rolls is still a plodding traditional center who can't shoot or guard pick-and-rolls, and those guys are simply not valuable these days. I'll be shocked if Edey plays more than 10mpg in the regular season.

Almost every rookie had a rough debut....but Missi looked fantastic. I didn't do any film on him and he wasn't a standout on paper, but he was really energetic and active game 1. NOP might have found a solution to their C problem.
