2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Only watched the last quarter, but Topic looked good.

Couldnt score in the last 5 minutes, but he had several great kick out passes for solid looks. The other team just had more talent (Joel Bolomboy and Teodosic seemingly being their 2 headliners)

Defensively it looks like they stick him on the worst player on the court. He had one terrible gamble he missed on that led to an And-1 late in the game.

Appreciate the update. Overall a more positive or negative impression of Topic?

Positive, but didnt see anything that I hadnt seen from watching the game highlights of previous games.

The biggest question I have on him right now is just defense. I feel like everything else about him I have a pretty good read on. Is the defense just regular bad or is it like scheme altering bad.

Collier sucking after a hot start is just another downer in this draft.

I definitely dont think Collier is a bad prospect. If the Jazz are drafting like 8th and he is there I would be pretty pleased with that, but he just isnt a top 5 guy to me. But you can say that about everyone who isnt Topic or Sarr at this point.

I think Cody Williams gonna see his stock soar with how meh this draft is. I'm definitely intrigued.

Yeah but you just want him to be worth a top 5 pick doe... especially since he seemed like he might "pop" early. I don't hate him either but think he's kinda got a low ceiling and the player type is just saturated.

IT will be interesting to see who emerges between him and Holland as the best American wing.

Holland is just completely out of his element as the primary creator on the Ignite, but he's got serious athletic tools and plays hard.

I think Cody having his older brother be a little bit of a late bloomer and being a hit in the NBA will push his stock up quite a bit. Holland has had a run of 5-6 good games too. Give me either of them right now with our pick and I'd likely take it.

Jakobe Walter could go top 5 or 6 in this draft simply because he's a viable player with an immediately projectable role. His ceiling isn't super high, but at least it's clear he'll step in and contribute.

Opinions are mixed as to whether Risacher will be able to develop wiggle on his drives and shoot off the dribble. That's what's holding him back from being a more complete offensive player.

I definitely believe he wont. He's passive to a fault. If you cant dominate your age class when you have his talent that probably means you are destined for a career as a 4th/5th option caliber player.

The question on him for me is how good is he at defense. If he's a complete defender who can guard the best wings, then he is worth drafting in the top 10.

He's only 18. He's working pretty hard and showing improvement over 6 months ago. I wouldn't overly define him just yet. He needs strength, a tighter handle, and more ways to score off the dribble. The passing and spot-up shooting are there. Defense looks projectable.

Ehhhh, I feel pretty comfortable defining him as being a low ceiling player. Best case he's a really solid wing defender (I havent seen anything that says standout defender) who can be a connector and really shoot it. Guys his size have a tough time developing their handle. And again, the level of passiveness he displayed when playing against people in his class was insane. He's so far away from being able to score off the dribble at the NBA level.

Honestly, if I'm being bold, I think I would straight up take Dalton Knecht over Risacher at any point in the draft.

Also, I think Risacher is more of a 4 than a 3 in the modern game.

Like if you put a passive mindset into MPJ, he would be Risacher.
