Excuse me if this appraisal is late, but:
Has it occurred to anyone that the decision with Mo Williams had a massive impact on Steve Nash's destination? The Lakers were going to grab him but KOC came in and probably took the cheapest deal/placed the highest bid depending on your perspective. That left the Lakers with the Odom TPE that they used to grab Nash with (who they HAD to trade for to offer the amount of money that they did).
Has it occured to anyone that Phoenix is also not far from Utah, either (Nash's supposedly biggest factor)? And that for roughly the same price it is to take on Mo and Marvin's committed salaries (one and two years respectively, but spanning only two years) the Jazz could've spent on salary for Nash over three? And that the Jazz wouldn't even hypothetically have to trade for him, while the Lakers would be out of the running (because they'd have to trade someone they don't want to make it happen [salary matching issue, just to start]).
Anyway, kind of fun and sad to think about if it's anywhere close to truthfulness (which we'll never know).
Goodnight.
