A few trade ideas with bad teams:

The first idea i've got that I would love, but who knows if Minnesota is this desperate?

AK
#9 Pick
Memphis Pick

to Minnesota for
Al Jefferson
Corey Brewer

Next trade idea:
#9 pick to Minnesota for #16 and #23.

Next trade idea:

Utah Receives
Corey Maggette
Al Jefferson

Minnesota Receives
Andrei Kirilenko
Memphis Pick
Future pick from GS

GS Receives
Ronnie Price

What say ye? I understand that these are mostly salary dumps, but the players mentioned aren't exactly on great contracts, so I bet they could be had.

I want Mags because we need more consistent scorers behind Deron Williams, to take pressure off of Deron. he's shown that he can score.

I would not do any of those trades for the Jazz. And the last one, GSW trades Maggette AND a future pick for Ronnie [multiple profanities] Price?

Who would you suggest that we go get as a wing who can consistently put up 20ppg?

The last time I remembered,... the Jazz system is built around a PG and a PF. Do you really think that Maggette would score 20 in the Jazz system?

Very true. But Maggette would put up better numbers than AK does in our system, and he is more of a threat.

I could see AK + 9 for Maggette +6. I'm not 100% sure the Jazz would do this though unless they totally are in love with Monroe.

Agree.
And dropping back to the #16 and #23 ain't so bad if the Jazz decide no bigs are that impressive and they'll take Orton, Whiteside or one of the wings. Then they can pick up another solid backup at #23.

Maggette you say?

Lets talk about Maggz.

Career ppg 16.6. Solid enough, imo.

But then there's the steals... an amazing .8 for his career, and .2 blocks. :epic:

Boards are 5.1, so that's decent for a SF. 2.35 TO's is fair. 2.2 Assists per game, which having watched him play I'm surprised by. 82% FT and 32% 3pfg.

Of the 902 games he's been in the NBA for, he's played in 710, and only started 432. So, he's missed 2.5 seasons...ish. For being a scorer he's never had a 40 point game.

I'm a Maggz hater. I don't care for him, and I don't think he's all that great, and I do not think he'll put up better numbers per minute played than AK. But after relooking at his stats, if we can get him on the Cheap I would go for it.

That could actually work.

If Boozer leaves as expected and Millsap starts at PF, a 20ppg scorer like Maggette would bring more scoring. He's also strong enough to guard Artest while Wes and CJ take turns at Kobe.

GS would probably welcome not just AK's expiring contract but also his game.

(Minor point -- since Maggette next season will get paid about $8M less than AK, a contract filler from GS would be needed and the closest match seems to be Radmanovic's expiring.)

Moving up the draft is always good while the drop for GS won't be too much in return for getting rid of Maggette's 3 remaining years. So yeah, AK+9 for Maggette+6 is the most realistic and fair draft day trade idea I've seen so far here in JazzFanz II.

If Minnesota doesn't trade Jefferson for Danny Granger, why on the Good Lord's green earth, would they have any interest in this deal?

Ak is better than Maggette and has a better contract. moving up 3 spots is not enough.

I would only do the trade back option if none of the player's they want are there at 9. Johnson, Monroe or Udoh. Trade back take a shot with Hassan Whiteside and then pick up a wing with the 2nd pick.

I would maybe trade up for Maggette if Cousins or Wesley Johnson fall that far.

Its called a salary dump where they get some picks out of the deal, bra. Bad teams have actually done this in the past to get another top-10 pick for a all-star caliber player. See: Ray Allen to Boston.
