I would have liked to see what the sentence would have been had it been a black male officer shooting an innocent white woman on accident.

Some of the she was tired and sexting with her married boyfriend so she was distracted stuff was pretty weak. I don’t know what really happened here but I’m not sure the story that the victim was warned is true or accurate. I don’t think she went and killed this guy knowingly on purpose either... just such a weird situation. Would just love to know what really happened here.

It is pretty weak, but unless I'm missing something here, I think she accidentally went into the wrong apartment. Unless you think she did it on purpose.

I know plenty of ditsy people that are so not situationally aware it's hard to stomach. These people will miss their own freeway exits. Space out and try and exit their freeway exit from the fast lane in a few hundred feet. Leave their kids in cars, in the summer, and forget about them. Text and walk into things. Text and immediately start to text when they get in a wreck because of texting. But in line like they don't conform to lines and they're the center of the universe.

It would be interesting to see if the roles were reversed what the sentencing would be. I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same or if it were more harsh. It would depend on the jury and their racial biases or objectivity.

Yeah she testified that she yelled "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS, SHOW ME YOUR HANDS" before shooting him.

But none of her neighbours ever heard her say that (but they did hear the victim yell "HEY, HEY!" before the gun shot).

I personally don't think she yelled anything. I think she made that part up to justify the shooting.

Yeah that sounds like some ********... again I don't truly understand her thinking because it is really irrational.

I think it's her mentality.

I think it was during the sentencing phase where the State showed that she posted something on IG saying 'Shoot first, ask later', or something along those lines. It was not allowed during the trial but allowed during the sentencing phase argument.

I can see that... there is just a few things that aren't lining up for me. It isn't hard for me to believe someone walked into the wrong apartment... they walk into the apartment, don't notice that the stuff isn't theirs, see a stranger, pull a gun, offer a warning?, then shoot to kill... like its too much to be an accident imo… but there is no motive. It's just weird AF.

Then her mentality should have landed a harsher sentence because it's reckless. If I shoot a salesman at my door tomorrow because I felt threatened and was distracted you think I'm getting 5-10 years?

The key witness (his neighbor) who helped put her away was just shot and killed at close range today. He was shot several times in the chest and mouth. Doesn’t appear that anything was taken. So robbery isn’t the motive.

This... is too much of a coincidence to not be suspicious, right?

Is it true she had white supremacist family members? What was her lover/partner doing today? This could get real ugly...

1. She invaded his apartment. She screwed up.
2. She killed him without warning.
3. She got off on a relatively light sentence. Had the races been reversed I guarantee you he would’ve gotten a much harder sentence.
4. So obviously his neighbor and witness to the crime must die so let’s kill him and shoot him in the mouth like mobsters do in retaliation to squealers.

Outrageous.

If it’s a cop, imagine the ugliness that’s going to follow. Two black lives were taken completely unnecessarily because one stupid (white) cop couldn’t figure out which apartment was hers.

This guy shot at a kid and didn't hit him and basically got the exact same sentence. Makes no sense.

The guyger sentence is just crap.

OMG... seriously? I saw his testimony.. he was sobbing real bad half way through.. it was hard to watch.

Damn.. that really sux.

But the article I think overstated it a bit saying he's the key witness.. the State called about 4-5 neighbours to testify to the moment of the shooting and all more or less said the same thing about the sound of the gunshot, etc. His testimony was one of those so not exactly a 'tipping point' type testimony, (I think the gunshot trajectory, the layout of the room, his eating an ice cream, etc, were more important), although it did help.

He was clearly the most visibly distressed neighbour though as he did cry during his testimony and none of the other neighbours did iirc.
