Take Embiid at #5 is a no brainer:
Why? Because you keep all of your assets and you move back in to the top #11. I would call Sacramento and offer them #23 and take on all $16.8M in expiring contracts (D. Williams, J Terry, Outlaw, Reggie Evans) That way Sacramento has max cap space to go after a guy like Dieng or Lowry and get a Cleanthony Early at #23. Then we could trade Kanter and get #11 from Denver. Denver gets a post presence.
At #8 we take Gordon, Stauskis, McDermott, Smart, Payton, Randle
at #11 we take Stauskis, McDermott, Payton
We may have to give up the 17' GSW pick in this but this draft is worth it.
I feel like if we retain all of our assets and use our capsace and GSW picks and Kanter wisely we could easily make this happen. (Yes, it would transpire on July 1 because that is when cap opens up) Could we all look back at a draft of Gordon, Stauskis and be upset....?
And oh by the way we have the next Hakeem in Embiid and if he is healthy we roll!
