What's new

Best trade ever....................

Why not go for LeBron & Wade & Westbrook & Durant while you're at it?

That'll be the best trade eva....................

Stop joking. Be serious.

Mavs are rebuilding now.

If that's the case - won't they be wanting draft picks? Multiple draft picks? Quadruple draft picks? (See Nash Trade for instance).

There's no way we're giving up all those draft picks for a retiring Dirk...

Al and Paul + 2 of our own picks. We arent going to need them. We will be really good the next couple years with him.

Its half plausible. Dirk would make us serious title contenders. Thats if we want to get serious about this. Spending those assets would be worth it, for a swing at a title.

If I was Cuban I'd want at least Kanter + picks for Dirk. I wouldn't care too much about the basketball value of Millsap or Jefferson.

Didn't Dirk Nowitzki's knees reportedly turn to dust this April? I'll trade Al for anything but dust.

IF he was available, which he isn't, you could bet Kanter would NOT be the name mentioned. It would require Favors, and Hayward or a couple of firsts. Nowitzki is a HOF'er. You'd have to give up top-tier players to get a player of that caliber.

Look at what we got for Deron...A former all-star PG in Harris, a #3 pick in Favors and a future lottery pick.

Not the same. Dirk is at the end of his career. Nash is a HOF, why doesnt he garner so much?

I dont think Dirk goes for as much as Deron did on the open market.

Wow! No, I didnt hear that. His knees are really dust? When did this happen?

I remember he took off some games cause of his knees. Dirk's condition was terrible this NBA season. He got back in it towards the end, but from December to maybe February, he was bad out there.

Yeah but Deron was in the prime of his career. Dirk's best days are behind him. In the twilight of his career.

LA can swap Bynum for Howard, I doubt Mavs can do the same for Dirk. Just getting too old.

I think Favors would be too much. Kanter might not get it done. May be offer Kanter & Burks and Cuban might start talking.

Dirk has a no trade clause. He can pretty much demand where he would want to be traded. (Hint: It's not going to be Utah)

To tell you the truth, however, I would be overjoyed if this fantasy came to life. I love Nowitzki.

Was it just me or did Nowitzki look like he was hobbling up and down the court last year?

He basically won the championship then spent the entire off-season filming bad German commercials. Last year he was out of shape, big time. However, I think the Mavericks front office threw in the towel to chase after D-Will and Dwight. Good call on their part.

Agreed.
The Mavs knew that team wasn't touching the Heat or Thunder this year.
Time to break up the bottle of jeritol club.
****...... I thought we were talking about the Celtics.

Regardless, the answer is an easy no here. Dirk is 34 and has played 1,055 career games. We're not winning a ring let alone a playoff series probably with a starting five of Mo-Hayward-Williams-Dirk-Favors.
