Is this the right place to post this? Oh well, here goes. Haberstroh, an ESPN "Insider" and stats geek, has some advice for the Bulls:

3. Dupe someone into trading for Boozer
The Bulls are in a tough position when it comes to Boozer. On one hand, they need offense. On the other, Boozer is so porous defensively that they can't depend on him down the stretch.

The numbers are staggering. The Bulls were better off this season with Boozer on the bench, according to plus-minus data from basketballvalue.com (minus-1.8 net rating). The Utah Jazz were better off in 2009-10 with Boozer on the bench (minus-2.0 net rating). Same thing in 2008-09: The Jazz were better off with Boozer riding pine (minus-6.6 net rating). That's three years running in which Boozer's defensive liabilities outsized his offensive exploits.

So what do they do? Well, they could use him to net a legitimate shooting guard, but this is the second postseason in a row in which he's floundered underneath the bright lights of the playoffs. He can't hide anymore. The Bulls may be better off lighting $60 million on fire than playing him 30 minutes a night into his 30s.

Sloanfail's reverence for Boozer is a matter of faith. No amount of logic or evidence can sway him.

Move to General NBA.

Not to be overly critical of Chicago's personel decisions when they were the best team record and defense-wise in the league, but they've given Boozer $80 million and Luol Deng $71 million to be the 2nd option after Rose. Both those players can really help you in the first round (Deng vs. Indiana, Boozer last year vs. Denver) but against the elite teams neither can elevate his game to that next level. Unfortunately - 95% of the league can't reach that level either.

I'm happy the jazz aren't stuck with that nightmare of a contract, but watching the Bulls that isn't their only problem, Derrick Rose looks ridiculously overrated right now.

He's a former Jazzman. This can stay here. It's the offseason too, not a lot to talk about.

It's great he's getting called out.
He's a solid starter. Not a guy to help you win a title, push you over the top, etc.
We learned that, and now the Bulls are.

On the other side Big Al is the same way. There aren't too many players who can take you to the next level.
Boozer is a good player, but he's not elite, not great, and will never win a title. Frankly I'm thrilled we've moved on.
Although Big Al isn't that much better, I think his health and blocks make him the better player.
Neither are stars though.

All I know is I played in a high school game with Booz and he dunked on everybody, myself included. So in my mind, he is the greatest player in the universe.

It's strange to think about, but Boozer was in the McDonald's HS Slam Dunk contest. Then again, so was Nick Collison.

Thanks to Chawkz & Jedi Tiger for the LOL.

KOC and the Jazz look smarter now. Sloan looks like a better coach for being able to hide the defense of Boozer and Okur. Maybe that is why the Jazz only practised offense?
