"Hey, locked out NBA players. How would you feel about playing in a league where the players have no power, practices go on for five or six hours on off days, there are bus rides that would make a minor league baseball player wince, and forget about post-game food spreads, or even a good college training table?

China still sound inviting? There is a reason the Chinese Basketball Association has the highest turnover rate of foreign players among professional leagues."

"After experiencing daily six hour practices, nine hour bus rides, unheated hotel rooms and stadiums, and endless meals of KFC and McDonalds — all while not being able to communicate directly with Chinese coaches, management and teammates — players often waive the white flag on their Chinese career and just pack up and leave."

...well, on second thought, the KFC and "Big Macs" might keep them there for at least a year!

General NBA

...look, you and the mods need to lighten up here! There is no JAZZ basketball anymore! THe lockout has taken center stage! So anything related to the lockout should stay on the main board. When the Jazz start playing basketball again, then we can enforce the thread theme idea once again. But that may be a couple of years from now!

So why not post something positive Jazz related instead of reflecting your jealously toward professional athletes. Here I am going to make your weekend, JR Smith will probably not last more than a month over there.

For once I agree with CJ. Seeing how this isn't a veiled racist post (or not so veiled), why not reward him by cuting him some slack?

....yeah, cut me some slack! Lighten up alittle! Recognize my posts for what they really are.....great sports journalism that ESPN and the N.Y. TImes doesn't have!

Too bad the opportunity to go to China wasn't there when Oliver Miller played (or even further back for Billy Paultz or Mel Turpin).

....of course, they've got to have some FABULOUS "Chinese Buffets" there....and I've seen some pretty hefty eaters at those Chinese Buffets!!!
