Corbin Wants Veterans

"I think clearly shooting is a priority," general manager Dennis Lindsey said in the hour after the Jazz’s trade for Trey Burke was announced Thursday night. "I think some veteran leadership is another thing Ty probably wants relative to the youth of our club."

I think this merited its own thread.

It sounds like Corbin wants a repeat of last year, where his favored veterans get to play over the youth. I sure hope the FO does not give him any veterans that he can shower all his love on.

I have no problem with veterans, necessarily. I have a big problem with veterans getting played over better, younger players that ALSO can improve with their time on the floor as a (massive) benefit.

If Corbin would play them where they fit a certain role on the team while the youth got their burn, I would have no problem with it. History unfortunately shows that is not what he does though.

He said "probably".

But lol @ Corbin. If it sounded right he could reverse biggie smalls lines as his famous punchline.
"The ***** Ty Corbin tryin to blow up like the black Jerry Sloan."

Placing crappy veterans on a roster coached by Ty Corbin is like leaving a refrigerator full of beer for someone entering AA. It's a disaster waiting to happen...

And this is the part that drives me most nuts: many think if the FO forces Ty's hand then we'll be ok. I don't want a coach with that kind of cloudy judgement. It's like if your wife had an affair with her boss and you were to think "well if we could just get the boss out of the picture then we won't have any problems."

Corbin just engineered a #9 Trey Burke and no more Jeffy contract no more no point guard & we're still bitching?

Contracts had to end, bros.
