Things could have been worse. We could have drafted Whiteside.

Everybody, including KOC, knows we need a big man. But we need a good big man. We have plenty of crappy big men (Fesenko, Koufus).

I'm glad we didn't waste a pick on him, as he was definite D-League material.

Hayward may not be our biggest need, but at least he will crack the rotation.

That being said, KOC you better find us a DECENT freaking big somehow. But thanks for not adding another crappy big into the mixture with Whiteside.

Except Whiteside wasn't in our draft range. Hayward was in our draft range, I just didn't expect us to take him.

How is Hayward not a D-league player? Especially when you consider he's currently 3rd string on our team made up of 3's?

I would have supported a Whiteside pick ahead of Hayward. At least whiteside is an attempt to solve certain length and defensive problems in the middle. Hayward doesn NOTHING. He's not as good of a shooter as Korver, Wesley, or CJ. Is just as bad at defense as Korver. He does absolutely nothing other than make Korver expendable.

Which, isn't anything to get excited over.

Thanks for the inside info, Coach Sloan.

Well...he is 20. It wouldn't take much to surpass CJ after all.

Anyone know why some were predicting Hayward to drop to the 20-25 picks? He not done well in the workouts?

If Whiteside gets uncorked, he's going to be able to score over most the players in the league, run the floor and intimidate all over the court. Easily an Andray Blatche PF/C.

Where did you see this? He was late lottery to just outside the lottery in all mock drafts I saw.

Is this better than last years team? Is Millsa/AK with CJ/Hayward better than Boozer/Millsap with CJ/AK47?

If not, then we're moving in the wrong direction.

No, but we weren't going to resign Boozer anyways, so why are you even throwing him in theoretical lineups? Is Millsap/Koufus with CJ/AK47 better than Millsap/AK with CJ/Hayward? I would take the lineup with Hayward.

Although we may be able to resign Booze if we free up some cash, which we can do now because Korver is expendable. Although I don't really want Boozer back, I want KOC to go find us a defensive Big.

And I agree, we are moving in the wrong direction IF we don't get something in return for Boozer leaving.

For all of critics... This is the beginning of the off-season, not the end. Still a lot of water to go under this bridge.

They can only choose from the players available when they draft. They would rather have a guy who they project to be able to play than a guy who might fill a need but will likely be a bust.

The Jazz took the guy they see as the best fit among those available. Maybe you disagree but time will tell.
