You do realize there were several months in between, right? At the time Fisher was released, OKC had three PGs, and would not have signed Fisher.

Right, but he said he didn't want to be away from his family. And now he's in OKC, away from his family.
 
Hate how the article doesn't comment on how Fisher was seeing a specialist in NYC, not LA, when he signed with the Lakers after leaving the Jazz.

He said he didn't want to be away while rehabilitatiing.

If Dallas was so eager to keep Fisher, why didn't they keep him under contract while he went home? Does an NBA contract force a player to rehabilitate in some special city?

And how he signed with the Lakers like 18 days later.

I never believed his punk ***. I listened to the press conference to announce he was being released by the Jazz. His fake *** had everyone believing that he was probably done with basketball. He made it sound like he wasn't sure if he would ever be back. He had Larry Miller in tears with his sob story and how he had to be in New York. Then he turns around and signs with the Lakers, even futher away from New York.

To anyone who heard that press conference, you would have never had thought he would be signing with the Lakers less than three weeks earlier. So a lot of us saw right through that nonsense, but we caught grief for being unsensative. The national media shamed all Jazz fans for booing him and getting on him. We were all labled as classless. It pissed me off so bad back then because we were all crucified on a national stage but they didn't even tell the whole story. Never once what he actually said was brought up.

I only care because he conned us though. He sucked on our team and Jerry wouldn't take him out of the starting two guard position (sound familar?)





Rep to anyone who can find that press conference with Derrick Fisher's release first being announced.
