Who do you perfer to as a commentator For the Jazz. I must say that Loche adds a lot with his podcasts on utahjazz.com as well as his passion for Jazz Basketball, but Bolerjack does a great job calling the games. Who do you prefer?
 
Bolerjack knows nothing about basketball, but has dimples and is telegeneic and has a nice voice.

Locke is a fanboy first and foremost, then a company shill, then a really decent play-by-play man.
 
Locke is like nails on a chalkboard. His incessant whining and screeching is enough to make me want to lop my ears off.
 
I can't vote in this poll because the three guys you mentioned don't even deserve to sniff Hot Rod's jock strap (though I suspect that all of them regurlarly do that). Every one of them feels like they're spouting the company line. They always go to lenghts to put a positive spin on everything, no matter what we're seeing. I sometimes like Locke's fandom and and analysis, but his play by play delivery is just wierd. Bolerjack only has his job because the ladies once found him attractive. I think that day has passed but Jazz management is too loyal to make a change. Harpring needs to knock off the M&M, fry sauce, and JazzNation act. That stuff all got old really quick. I really miss hippety-hop the belt high dribble, pulls up on a dime and leaves seven cents change, and the cowhide globe hits home!
 
I am the minority I guess with liking Boler. I'm pretty indifferent with Harp. Sometimes decent, sometimes just flat out annoying. Boler/Booner > Boler/Harp

Locke is a radio host. Not a play-by-by guy. He is ok at play-by-by but he tries to turn it into Sportscenter or something with his little catch phrases and that is just lame and stupid. He be better off doing Alema's job or just being a full time radio guy. But I don't blame him for not wanting to give up his current gig. Who would.

And the poll blows. People need to learn how to make a poll. Look at YB's post about the royal wedding or any I have made (since obviously I rule =). Give us some options at least. I would have voted for "They both suck, bring back Hot Rod, even if it's his corpse preserved in grain alcohol".
 
I'd like to hear David James get a shot at the play by play on the radio with Boone. Move Locke over to the TV half-time commentary show where he can share endless amounts of useless statistics, while I'm in the kitchen.

Can we offer Raja the TV play by play? That would solve two problems. Bolerjack would be a great lockeroom/ postgame interviewer.
 
I loved Hots but I know plenty of non-Jazz fans both in Utah and around the NBA that couldn't stand him. Been in a bunch of NBA cities and Boler and Locke hold up well IMO. All a matter of taste. I would rather have Hots but Locke's basketball analysis is far better than happens in most local markets.

This. Great idea. Actually, give him Boler's job.

I love David James. I think he'd be awesome as the TV play by play. But don't team him with PK. PK can be funny on the radio but as a color commentator he'd be worse than both Harp and Boone combined.
