Day 1 Standout - Gordon Hayward

According to the whispers emanating from UNLV's Mendenhall Center, Portland's Damian Lillard, Utah's Gordon Hayward and collegian Doug McDermott of Creighton were among the Day 1 standouts, with the Los Angeles Clippers' Jordan said to have made his presence felt defensively. ESPN.com

Oh and another nugget.

Favors had bulked up noticeably — a point observed also by Hayward — although the fourth-year forward said he has added muscle but maintained his playing weight. Last season, the 6-foot-10 Favors was listed at 263 pounds; on the Team USA roster, he was listed at 248.

This is most encouraging. Our boys are growing up right before our very eyes. *tear*

A physically stronger Favors next to Kanter will match or beat any big court in the NBA as far as strength and physicallity.

Favors needs the strength so he can match his post-defense with his already great help-D.

I'm so excited about our young front court. I expect that a Favors/Kanter combo has great potential to eventually dominate. Add in Gobert for defense and they could potentially be set for years. I'm encouraged to hear that Hayward looks good in that setting. I'm hoping for big things from him moving forward. I don't know how Burks and Burke will fare as starters, but I'm really excited about the potential of Favors, Kanter and Hayward.

This is what happened last year. He was noticed, and then during the year he didn't do as well.

Really shows that he can do, compared to what he was doing with the team. I'm going to blame Corbin, who I hereby dub the "bitter black buddha".

Cousins' humility went missing when he was pressed to elaborate on his intent to "come in and try to be the best big [in camp]." Asked to identify his competition for that unofficial title -- in a camp that also features the likes of Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, Kenneth Faried, Derrick Favors, DeAndre Jordan, Greg Monroe and Larry Sanders -- Cousins shot back with a quick: "Nobody." ESPN.com

I hope Favors dominates the hell out of him.

Cousins is an epic Douche Bag

I understand confidence and all that but that i snot how this comes off. This comes off as arrogance. This could just be misrepresented but after so many occurances with this kind of stuff you start to think that is who he is. An arrogant douche.

PKM...I trust your opinion. Is Cousins a douche bag or is he a good guy that doesn't know how to articulate his thoughts in a non-offesnsive manner?

PKM says "he is misundestood and jsut wants respect. he belives respect is earned and not just given. cousins will give you respect when you earn it, and show him you respect him "

Clearly he's never read this book. Give him a copy, PKM.

What Cousins doesn't realize is respect is a two-way street. He WANTS respect, but so do others. And he's failed to earn the respect of teammates, coaches, referees, etc.
I have a completely opposite opinion. I think you start off with respect and then it can be lost through dishonest or disingenuous actions.
