Deja Vu all over again...

I wanted to give Fisher the benefit of the doubt. But this makes it harder to do.

I interpret it that Fisher, for some reason, feels an entitlement to play for contending teams, and he appears to use his family as a smokescreen to feed his entitlement.

Someone needs to make a "Slimeball Derek" meme.

I found this one:

i dont think you need to say "all over again" after saying "deja vu"

It makes it more effective. When you hear the phrase "all over again" you think, "damn, didn't I hear that already?" and then you think, "nah, just a déjà vu."

I feel a bit vindicated as one who believed Fisher was leveraging his daughter's situation to get back to LA where he wanted to play. Jazz fans were universally bashed for suspecting that Fisher would do this. I had secretly hoped that he would let something slip about his true intentions, but this is better as he has simply repeated the pattern of selfish and dishonest behavior.

Fisher: "... but it's not about everyone else necessarily. It's just about making a decision I felt was best for me at this time."

A pathetic excuse.

I hope the media doesn't forget about this when they talk about his rings. Pathetic ring chasing piece of ****.

This may have been already posted but I loved Mark Cuban's response to Derek Fisher signing with OKC:
"Look, I understand completely. From the time Derek was here to his signing with OKC, his kids are older, they can deal with things better. So I understand him having more comfort in being away from them ... His kids are older now. It’s easier to fly in and out of Oklahoma City than it is Dallas. I understand that. It’s just a decision a parent has to make. Every parent has difficult decisions to make.”

I was glad when he asked for the release in the first place. Though all the self righteous jackasses whining about him getting booed (HOW DARE YOU BOO A MAN WHO JUST WANTED TO BE NEAR HIS DAUGHTER WITH CANCER....YOU HATE CANCER PATIENTS) do make this story a little sweeter.
