Derrick Favors is not Karl Malone, but is still very valuable.

When Derrick Favors worked out with Karl Malone, he injured his back. And he has been dealing with back pain every year since. He is not Karl Malone. But he is great, near all star level player. Why don't we just live with the fact that he needs recuperation during the season. He have some depth to survive.

All of our great players on our team has one or two flaws, but together they are stronger. Rudy can't shoot long range, but has great defensive impact. Gordon Hayward is not an elite dribbler/off the dribble guy, but can do everything else offensively well. Derrick is a well rounded power foward who has a great midrange game and an elite defensive impact, but his body isn't durable. Hood has nagging injuries, but has a great offensive skill set. Trey Burke is short, but has guts and courage and a great midrange game and a scorer's instinct and can handle the ball. And the list goes on. Great skill, but have flaws to make the humble to work as a team.

Yeah that's a good point. I'd like to watch this team grow. I was reading about Kobe and his battles in the early 2000's against the Kings. I realized the Spurs were contenders then as they are now. It's amazing, the amount of corporate knowledge that team has. I wonder how the Deron / Booz combo would have been had they had different attitudes and stayed together. Would we be contenders today? Assuming their bodies held up. Probably not, but still it seems like ages ago but they are still in the league toiling away. Crazy to think John and Karl were just hitting their stride at the age Deron and Boozer are now. Hopefully we can keep this bad together and grow them together.
