What's new

Derrick Willams will be a Jazz man

That would be fine and I would join in the celebration. But, if he doesn't fall to three and we get Kanter, I would celebrate just as hard.

In my mind Williams = Kanter = Irving(he might even be a little lower)

Isn't Williams an undersized PF who can't shoot? I don't understand why the Jazz would want him? Are they collecting undersized PFs? Can he play the SF? He seems a bit heavy.

He and Millsap are about same size. If Millsap can learn to shot a 3-pointer Jazz all ready have same player.

WRONG. Derrick Williams is much better putting the ball on the floor and creating his own shot. While I LOVE Millsap's game as 6th man (hustle, rebounds, put backs), he is NOT the same player Williams.

And can we PLEASE not call him DWill, DWill2, or anything of the sort if we luck out and get him?

Watch some highlights...at LEAST. Derrick Williams will have no problem at SF on either side of the floor.

He's 240. LeBron is like 250...doesn't seem too heavy to play the 3.

Lebron James is different than Williams. He is heavier but he is 10x as athletic.

I agree. There's little difference in potential amongst the top-3 and a LOT of risk with each.

If Williams is there and the Jazz think he can play SF, KOC will draft him. KOC is big on taking guys who can create mismatches: a big PG in Deron, a 6'7" SG in Hayward, wanting Favors at PF (and then trading for him), even going back to Miles who was drafted as a tall SG. Williams - IF he can play SG - has a tremendous height advantage over most other SF's. I'd love to see Hayward and Williams at the wings, with Favors and Jefferson at the 4/5. If that doesn't happen, then Jazz could go Kanter and Singleton (or Jimmer). Either way we address the need for size and/or defense at one of the frontcourt positions.
