carolinajazz is probably going to get fired from the campaign as a result of this. It's too bad because I was really looking forward to how Trump delivered the "people will look back and say this was the moment the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal" line.

Apparently, according to Trump's campaign manager, these accusations of plagiarism all originate from Hillary:

"Manafort said attacks on Trump's speech are due to Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, being "threatened" by Trump.

"This is once again an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, she seeks out to demean her and take her down. It's not going to work," he said."

Not exactly.

Earlier in the day, Melania said that she wrote the speech herself with as little help as possible.
If a speechwriter gets canned, that means she didn't write it.
Not that it's a big deal if a Trump gets caught in a lie...
