It appears to me that he probably does. But I think its odd that he has turned down 3 other head coaching positions. Maybe he is just realizing that he can't see himself with another organization?

Yes and no. I think he needed a change as much as Utah did. I do nto think he regrets stepping down but he still wants to coach.

At most I'd say he regrets the way he did but not that he did.

Also enough of this anonymous polling crap. I want to see who voted what damnit!

Agree with Hantlers. Sloan was frustrated with Deron and reportedly wanted him suspended, but he received no support from KOC or Greg. I think Jerry felt his authority had been taken away. It was certainly a much different structure than what he had with Larry H. in command. I'm sure Sloan misses basketball. Probably what Beantown said; he wants to be involved, but just can't see himself with a rebuilding team or even with another organization.

I think he need an emotional and physical break and he got that. They should have let Sloan take a leave of absence for the remainder of that season, had Corbin serve as the interim, and then brought Sloan back as the head coach.

I don't think that man lives with regret, he made the decision he believed in at that time,
And so if it be he wanted to return it shall be, if not then oh well.

Can we please get over Sloan? Anybody who is too stubborn to change a gameplan they've used for 23+ years in coaching and adapt to the new style of play is never going to take a team anywhere. And I don't care if we have Corbin coaching this team, no to J Slo. He had his shine, but it's over now. It's been over. Especially a coach who was washed up before he retired on a 3 year layoff..

JUST NO!

Yeah you are probably right. A coach like that could never get to the finals twice, or a bunch of western conference finals, or the hall of fame...

Lol, like I said, and what you totally flew over... 1997 and 1998 were over a decade and a half ago.

Whether he does or not the reality is that he did. It was time for Jerry to go and he even said that he was looking for a way out. I think the Jazz should use his knowledge as a coach/talent evaluator but it would be a disaster if they brought him back.

2007 wcf was only three years before he stopped coaching. And he is hall of fame. You are not going to get any sane basketball person to agree that Jerry was a bad coach. He was a great coach. Great. Not mediocre, not good, great.
