The Sacramento Kings are planning to select Kentucky center DeMarcus Cousins with the fifth pick in the draft, sources with knowledge of the franchise’s plan told Yahoo! Sports.

The Kings have ultimately decided Cousins is just too talented to pass and believe they can provide the support system he’ll need in the NBA. Cousins is 6-foot-11, 285 pounds, and has a refined offensive game. Kings general manager Geoff Petrie and coach Paul Westphal are banking the organization can help Cousins improve his conditioning and maturity.

If the Jazz want Cousins (and I hope they do), they'll have to deal w/Minny...
 
I guessed that when they made the deal for Dalembert. Cousins gets a year to play backup, then takes over after Dalembert's contract expires. Or the Kings can deal his contract at the deadline if Cousins develops faster.

Good trade and good projected pick by Sacramento (unless Minnesota trades down).

I believe if the Jazz want a player instead of bench fodder they are going to have to alter the equation. Unfortunatley they will probably wait to see if someone else will alter the equation, and end up with bench fodder.
 
Goddamn, did I make super-unintelligent beings or what? Use the eyes I gave you, son. This is a smokescreen. The Kings want to raise the value of DeMarcus Cousins so he is taken before their pick and another player drops. There is no reason for them to make statements like this before the draft except for this purpose. It's counter-productive to state you like a draft pick before the draft... in so many ways. Especially when Cousins has such a high probability of going before their pick.

And I agree this is a total smokescreen. I'm guessing the Wolves want Turner,Favors or Johnson.
 
Happiness comes through peaks and valleys. If I gave you guys a championship right off the bat, you wouldn't have the strong, almost teenager sexual yearning for a championship. You'll know what I mean when it comes.
