Dwight Howard would resign with the Lakers

At least it's still hypothetical for now. I'm still holding out hope that the Rockets can trade for Howard directly. That would be better than seeing him in a Lakers uniform.

Don't fight it nightmare... The Lakers always make the killer trades. Dwight will become a Laker, and Steve Nash will be making him look immortal on the basketball court. My blood pressure is rising just thinking about it.

There's no need to get angry until it actually happens. Then we can all come on Jazzfanz and gripe about it.

It's unavoidable now. The Lakers are really the last team that Orlando can send him to this season now that Houston can no longer take on all of Orlando's bad contracts (because of Asik and Lin signing).

There is no way that Orlando doesn't trade him before the start of the season.

I'm not trying to sound dramatic but that could possibly be the best NBA team ever created. I don't think people are comprehending how GOOD they just got...they added a top 5 PG and the best C to a team that already had a top 1 or 2 SG and a top 5 big man. Nice role players with Jamison and Metta.

I still think the Thunder will beat them and go to the Finals again. Who will guard Westbrook? Harden? Durant?

Nash? An aging Kobe? Artest who's a semi-shell of his former self? And Perkins and Ibaka match up decently on Howard and Gasol. In fact, Perkins gives Howard fits I believe. I predict the Thunder have a better regular season record and win a playoff series in 7.

Take this for what it's worth as you never know what angles the agents are playing, but Dwight's agent has refuted the reports that Dwight would sign an extension with the Lakers. https://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba...oward-sign-extension-team-explore-free-agency

Talk abut Drama. I don't think I can recall anything like this in the 30 some years that I have been an Nba fan. Dwight will go here, Dwight will not go here. Dwight will re-sign, Dwight will not re-sign. Dwight wants to stay in Orlando, Dwight wants out of Orlando... Dwight want the Coach fired, Dwight never said that...I used to like this guy, but geeze...

I don't think he'll have many fans other than fans of the team he ends up with. And it sounds like that could only last for a year.

It would be fitting if the Lakers blew their top shelf young player on a Dwight rental that turned into a half season of back injury plagued crybabying. Dwight leaves, Nash retires, Kobe complains, and the L's fade in to 5+ years of obscurity.

This would be beautiful... I am repping you for giving me hope.

Let's not act like this is already done.

Here's what's happening, IMO. Right now, the Magic are pissed that once again, they pretty much HAVE TO trade the best center in the league to the Lakers. So what they are telling LA, is if this is really going to happen yet again, we are going to expect some make-up compensation for the Shaq trade. We got abused the last time around, so this time, if you wanna play you gotta pay. It seems pretty ridiculous, actually beyond ridiculous, the way this thing is dragging out, but when it comes to the Lakers, I'm kinda glad they're playing hardball.

At this point, I don't think Orlando is even going to be that rational about it. They're still so sore over Shaq, I actually think they'll risk losing value by trading him elsewhere, if LA isn't willing to pay a heavy price.

I'm not sure why Orlando would want Bynum who I doubt would re-sign over say Brook Lopez (signed, though overpaid), maybe Humphries, Brooks and three 1st rounders (which we'll be around 23 rather than 30 if the trade is with L.A.)...whatever...
