Early Finals Prediction

Hard to predict right now. San Antonio doesn't look like last year's but they rarely do early in the season.
Miami starts acting like San Antonio with Wade admittedly being toast if playing too much.

So I'm tempted to go with the Pacers as well, but I'm going oldschool with Heat vs Spurs
Spurs in 7

Watching Oden and Beasley contributing for the Heat right now makes me even more inclined to say they're going to three-peat.

In the ECF last season Wade was a useless gimp, except for game 7. Didn't he have a game where he recorded more TO's than points? Well, they're doing a much better job of resting him for the post season. He'll be ready this time.

Another major reason (maybe the biggest reason) Indiana was able to take Miami to 7 games was the inability of Miami to defend Hibbert (that was the only stretch of his career of scoring 20+ points in 5 consecutive games), but now they have Oden. If he gets healthy enough to defend Hibbert... he would solve what is essentially their only flaw as a team.

I can see Miami getting past Indiana, even if they aren't at full strength (though, Indiana would have a very good chance), but if they're healthy (see: Wade; Oden), you'll see Miami beat Indiana again. And it won't take 7 games this time.

Is Oden playing for Miami right now? With him in the mix I really like Miami. And if they go through I think they'd handle OKC.

Yeah, I saw him play a few minutes today. He had a two handed slam through traffic and a nice jump hook. And that was just in the few minutes that I watched.

Of course, this is Oden we're talking about......

...I don't think the Heat can get past the Pacers again this year. At least I hope not! Pulling for the Spurs to win it all, but the Thunder winning wouldn't hurt my feelings....as long as they can finish off the Heat if they meet in the Finals!

They should rest him til the playoffs. He could make a big dif for that team. They so small

I'd love the Pacers to win. Could turn some front office heads around when a defense first, grind it out, play hard and smart all night, no antics team is a winner. You have 30 teams like the Pacers, you may have some 82-79 wins more, but you don't have 130-115 lackluster attitude games any longer. Because every win counts. Increased physicality could also accelerate rule changes like shortened season and 40 min games.
(I for instance would like a 66 game season - 4 against each division rival and 2 against every other team) Would increase the experience for the viewer.

They need to be cautious, but they also need to bring him along. It's been years since he's had in-experience. You can't just throw a guy like that into a playoff series. I'm hoping he starts getting 15-20 minutes a game by March.

If Lance Stephenson and Big Roy step up to the challenge, Miami simply will not win.
