I don't know if there is a connection or not, but 29th of October is the Republic Day of Turkey since it is the day the Republic has been found in 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our congress.

It is funny that they have a day for Enes though. Maybe they've felt bad that he lost all connection with his country and family.
