What's new

Enes Kanter (Turkey) highlights - Eurobasket 2011 Round 1 (5 games)

that move against Gasol was nice, it's a shame he didn't see more action in the big games(Lithuania, Spain). lol at the ending

i thought he did well all things considered

I really hope Turkey gets their act together for the next round. I can't watch another game played at the three point line.

Turkey is one of the worst "teams" I've seen in the Euro tournament. All they do is play one-on-one. And their coach doesn't know how to coach. Did you see the game against Poland when the Polish player got five free throws, how the coach reacted? Just the series of plays that led to the five free throws shows you how poorly they are coached.

So does he do better against bigger or smaller players?

With the style he's been playing (and maybe asked to play), much better against smaller players. He's playing ogre-ball (low-post w/ blinders) for the most part, but he's been doing a good job at it.

As has been mentioned in another thread, if he's to become a primary scorer, he needs to show he has a face-up game and reliable jump-shot, in addition to continuing to improve his passing game.

Still cant believe he is 19. His footwork is so advanced.

It's interesting to watch Kanter and compare him with Favors. While Favors is oozing athleticism and occasionally makes plays that just make you say WOW, Kanter seems to have a much better understanding of the game in terms of post moves, and like you said, footwork.

It's going to be fun to watch these two develop.
