Eric Griffin Agrees to 2-Way Deal with Jazz

Love it.
And surprised that griffin would do it. Jazz organization must have made a great impression on him.

Roster pretty crowded currently.

This is the first two-way, correct? Or maybe O'Neale got one. If so, Williams-Goss is not going to get one. That makes 17 on the roster, so someone has got to go. As most are speculating Bolomboy is the odd man out. Apparently, he played his way out in SL.

Great news. Happy he's getting at least a foot in the door. I thought another team might give him a regular roster spot.

NWG needs to go to Europe. Or he'll get cut and sign a regular 2-way deal. As a Zags fan, I was completely wrong about him. Call me a homer, I guess. Thought he could be a decent backup.

Edit: meant to say regular GLeague deal. No one right now would give him a 2-way slot.

He has to learn how to dribble and handle pressure, as well as shoot NBA 3's. If he could do both those things, he might have a chance at coming back state side and making a team.

Fingers crossed that someone got confused about the Oneale deal, and this is what they actually meant. This guy is worth having, the other makes absolutely no sense.

Love it. Well deserved for Griffin! A bit surprised he took a pay-cut to come to Utah.

His contract was for 500K Euro from what I've heard. So... he's taking about half that with the Jazz.

Where did you see that?

Also, what kind of taxes do these dudes have to pay when they play in Europe? Don't you have to pay taxes to the USA and Italy when you are on a work visa?

It seems to me that Griff has more of an upside than the three guys we signed last week. Heck he was on a stat dead heat with our first round pick center from the year Haywood was drafted.

Not to mention cost of living. Most of what you buy has VAT added. When I was in the U.K. (It was several years ago), the VAT rate was around 20%.

Some of the reporters on twitter said it. I can't remember who.

Most salaries for players in Europe are after tax.

Why did everyone tell me he wouldn't be a two way contract when I suggested that in the last thread about him?
