Dude you made out like a bandit, Markkanen gonna get starting minutes now lol

Portis... haven't ever like that dude. If I were the GM of the Bulls I'd have striped of his practice jersey right there and called the police.

Apparently Mirotic will need surgery.. damn, and to do that to your own teammate. Who would trust Portis again as a teammate?

Should probably wait for complete details before you make final judgements.

According to ESPN Mirotic attacked Portis twice.

According to Deadspin Portis sucker punched Mirotic.

Somewhere in between there's the truth, lol..

Yeah just saw it:

The players had been talking trash to one another in practice, going back and forth before those exchanges escalated into a physical encounter, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Mirotic charged at Portis twice before Portis threw a punch and connected with Mirotic's face, league sources said. Mirotic dropped to the floor and lay there for several minutes before getting up, league sources said.

I don't know which is worse though? Charging at someone or punching someone?

Unless you were there or have an accurate play by play without bias its impossible to say.

In general, if you don't want to get punched, you shouldn't charge at someone.

I'm not a lawyer but this is what I found on the internet regarding self defence:

Self-defense permits a person to use not more than the same force which confronts them. So for instance if a person used non-deadly force to confront you, you may use equal force to defend yourself. However, you may not use deadly force to defend yourself when confronted with non-deadly force.

So based on that, I think pushing back is appropriate, but punching in the face is questionable.

That must not be from the U.S.. In the U.S. if you feel threatened you can shoot someone dead.

Liberty and freedom.. liberty and freedom.

Not sure. But the quote did say if someone uses 'non-deadly force', it didn't talk about a life threatening situation.

Like as an example, if you enter into a shoving match at the bar and no punches were thrown, I don't think you're allowed to pull out a gun and kill the guy and say "I felt threatened". I mean that would be excessive, no?

Uh, if I feel threatened, I feel threatened and I'm gonna take out my gun and settle the situation.

Seriously, y'all Aussies all that wimpy?

I'm talking about a hypothetical situation whereby somebody uses a non-deadly force on you, i.e., a hard slap or a shove. I'm saying that shouldn't automatically enable you to pull out a gun and shoot the guy and be able to qualify that action with "I felt threatened".
