Game 1: Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers, 8:30 p.m MT..Game Thread

Looks like I'll make the first game thread of the regular season. It would be beautiful to start the season off with a win in front of those dirtbags in the LA.

Favors and Hayward must play at least 30 minutes apiece barring foul trouble.

Go Jazz!

Kobe and Bynum won't be in, right?

Not sure. I've been laser focused on the Jazz. I've been foaming at the mouth for the season to get underway to see what we've actually got on our hands, because I think we've got a title contender. Just a couple of big IFS.

I'll edit the original post as I see news reports leading up to the game.

Go Jazz!

I expected a lot more from the first game thread of the season - especially when it's created 6 days early.

Mods, please lock and do not sticky unless the OP modifies and improves the first post.

If someone could teach me how, I'd try.

Surround the image link with
following the end of the link (no spaces).

Example:
Code:

I just don't know what that means. What's an image link?

All I know how to do is right click and save image as to a folder. Tell me where to go from there.

Right click and then click "open in new tab" then take the URL from the address bar. That is the link to the image. Or save the image to your pc like always and then go to imgur.com and upload it there. After you upload it then you will see a bunch of links on the side. One will say "message board" and you can take that and just post it here.

I don't get "open in new tab" when I right click. I use Netscape Navigator 2.0, I only get "Save As" and some other options.

Kobe Bryant has sustained a torn ligament in his right wrist during Monday's exhibition game and is considered day-to-day.

An MRI exam revealed the injury.

Bryant was wearing a plastic brace around his right wrist at the team's training facility Wednesday afternoon.

The lunotriquetral ligament stabilizes two of the smaller wrist bones on the outside part of the wrist. It was unclear if it was a complete or partial tear.

"If it's a complete tear, it's more problematic," said Keith Feder, a Manhattan Beach sports medicine specialist. "Without being privy to the MRI, these types of injuries can take anywhere from several days to several weeks to heal completely, but depending on the pain level and with support, the athlete could play."

LA radio says he is planning on playing in their season opener on Sunday . . . But maybe he will aggravate it and miss the Utah game.

So either they won't have Kobe, or they will have an injury ridden, 3rd game in a row tired Kobe? Both sound good to me. Plus no Bynum. The Lakers will basically be Gasol, World Peace, and a bunch of old scrubs.

Pretty pathetic looking team when you subtract Kobe and Bynum.

Definitely a winnable game if we don't come out like a bunch of scared mice.
