This game 2 of 3 season meetings of these teams. The Pelicans beat the jazz 104-96 on Nov 22.

Derrick Favors and Anthony Davis are both questionable for tonight's game.

Tyreke Evans has been on fire for the Pelicans.

Did you know that..."New Orleans was founded in 1718 by the French as Nouvelle-Orléans, under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. The city was named in honor of the then Regent of France, Philip II, Duke of Orléans. The priest-chronicler Pierre François Xavier de Charlevoix described it in 1721 as a place of a hundred wretched hovels in a malarious wet thicket of willows and dwarf palmettos, infested by serpents and alligators."

Hmm,no mention of the pelicans.

Go Jazz.

If The Brow ever fades away, Anthony Davis should be nicknamed The Duke of New Orleans.

a. So the French must not have liked the Duke of Orleans very much - kind of a underhanded slap in the face to name the place in his "honor."
b. I don't think much has changed in 300 years. Now it's a place of hundreds of thousands wretched hovels in a swamp. Well, I guess malaria has been wiped out.

Who cares if Davis plays, we have Favors, Kanter and Gobert. When they played in November the great young core of Jazz bigs held Davis to 43 points on 70% shooting.
