Good place to go on a date in SLC

Somehow I tricked a girl that's way out of my league into spending a few hours with me this weekend. We're gonna eat somewhere decent downtown but I need an idea after that. Preferably cheap or free but it's not that big of a deal. Maybe a cool out of the way place to walk to? Is there anything cool going on tomorrow night downtown?

PS: I actually like this girl and am not just trying to git sum.
PPS: not a movie
PPPS: I am not the real Marty McFly so no BTTF jokes, please.

Marry first, ask questions later.

Maybe dinner and a show.....in Las Vegas?

Seriously, it depends on what you're into and she's into....whether you are over the age of say 18, etc.

In arizona I take my chicks to a pottery making place, I know it sounds childish but chicks dig it. SLC surely has one of those too. Also after the date the chick has something to remember you by at home!

Make sure it's a good pottery place though, some pottery places are really for kids while others are for older people. Like in Arizona there are pottery places specially designed for dates :/

On my first date with my wife we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon and had a picnic. Then, rather than driving back down, we drove up over Guardsman's Pass and down into Park City where we stopped and had some desert. On the way you can stop and do a little hiking. It was the perfect mix of food, activity and talking time. Other than money for gas and food it is a relatively inexpensive date that easily fills a few hours.

Fixed.

I kid. That sounds like a pretty good idea.

Marty, maybe you should explain a little something about the chemistry you have with this girl. I think dates should always push some shared conceptual bond a little further. You know? For example, if you both have a crass sense of humor, Scat's idea would be less awesome... you'd want to take her to a cool music thing or something similar

I'm not familiar enough with SLC to provide anything specific. However, I would always want to do something no one else would do .. maybe a little bit outside her comfort zone. For example, I once took a girl caving (the whole way through the cave, the water is about ankle deep) and when we got a long way, I turned on a lantern and had a picnic. She told everyone about that date for years.

You could go get dessert at The Melting Pot. It's definitely a tasty and fun dessert. It's like $20-25 for two people.

It's becoming Halloween season, so there might be some haunted forests or something you could go to in the SLC area.

There's lots of music events at Galavan and the park, but I don't know for sure if anything is happening this weekend. But I heard about some big thing happening down on Center Street in Provo Friday night. I think a bunch of local bands are playing? Not totally sure what's going on with that, but there's supposed to be a lot of people there and it's free.

I took my date to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last night. Worth every penny. Good food and.... other rewards.
