If you think that what do you think about this? In two summer league games, Gordon Hayward has scored 22 points with only 7 shot attempts. That's silky smooth, baby.

a) He's used significantly more than 7 possessions and 50% of his points are free throws.

b) Summer league dude. Summer league.

a) So does DWade... Point is, he getting points without dominating the ball.

b) No crap Sherlock, it's the off season and this is what's happening. It may not mean much, but it's better than him sucking, right?

At least he's succeeding in summer league. Could you imagine JF if he was sucking in summer league? Oh man......

I want to talk him up, but unfortunately I haven't been able to watch any of the games. I just keep hearing about his basketball IQ and how it's out of this world. Box scores don't paint the whole picture, but it's sure making a pretty good outline. Then again, remember when Ostertag dominated Duncan in summer ball? But then yet again, remember when Millsap brought it and a bag of chips?

You're right, he can not score in the NBA. In fact, he hasn't quite yet.

Summer League. Summer.

I remember Mo Almond scoring at will in the D-League. How did that translate in the NBA?

We should start a thread about how he cant shoot next. I loved all those people who claimed Hayward was a horrible shooter, his stroke is crisp.

I keep hearing all this, "It's only summer league" **** and I can't help but think why the flip do they have summer leagues then if the camps don't mean anything? Dudes, the camp are to polish the players are get them familiar with the system, and also to help teams find diamonds in the rough. You have to be lying to yourself if you truly aren't impressed with 22 points on 7 shot attempts from Hayward.

I'm sure you would be saying the same thing if he was sucking it up...

When reading all of Thriller's "expertise", just remember that he was a big proponent of drafting Jarrett Jack and Gerald Green in '05. Then snicker.

rofl, he must have been enamored by Green's elite athletic ability and Jarret Jack's dual first name.

I think the best part about Hayward so far is that he is showing how bball smart he is. He is letting the game come to him and not trying to do to much. He is a great passer and flows very well within the offense. Also he runs extremely well without the ball. I have to admit that I get turned on thinking about him playing next to Dwill and within the Sloan offense.

How many players have sucked in the Summer League only to turn out to be great players in the NBA?

How many players have played well in summer league only to turn out to to be great players in the NBA? It goes both ways. You can't hate on players for playing well in the summer league.

The most important question has yet to be asked. Why the hell does Archie have Jim Caviezel going all Butch Cassidy in his sig?

Please, answer my question. Have there been any players that have sucked in the summer league only to turn out very well in the NBA? Because it's probably influential on how I'd react if he'd been sucking so far.

Of course you can have it both ways. You have yet to prove it otherwise. Some players have looked great in the summer league only to suck in the NBA. But how many players have sucked in the summer league only to have great NBA careers?

Didn't Steph Curry suck it up in Summer League last year? Also, Gerald Green still has a lot of potential.
